EXPERIENCE
Over 35 years in the packaging industry as a packaging engineer and designer
for industrial packaging, automotive, bulk packaging, and manufacturing. I am
proficient in Artios 2D & 3D cad, 3D Product Design and 3D Printing. I was a
design manager for four companies over the past 30 years.
WORK HISTORY
2014-2013 Timken Co: Senior Designer in charge of “Packaging Consolidation
of Global Packaging World Wide” Duties were the consolidation of their current
global packaging. Packaging evaluation and redesigning ship case to meet US
and Europe standards. I was responsible designing new packaging equipment
to assist in the procurement of standard ship cases
2013-2011 Commercial Cutting: Senior Designer for Point Of Purchase
Displays. Lead designer for Victoria Secret, Bath and Body Works and The
Limited.
2011-2001 Tavens Container: Design Manager. I was in charge of their
design department and eight sales reps. We would design POP displays, Bulk
Packaging and customer consolidation. Part of my responsibilities was to
assist sale reps in customer procurement of new accounts. I was also in
charge of the evaluation of customers current packaging and cost saving
audits.
2001-1996 Self Employed: I filed patent on the worlds first automatic set up
octagonal bulk container. This design had an auto bottom structure that would
set up automatically when you erect the structure. I had licensed two major
container companies to use my design.
My company designed and manufactured packaging machinery that would
assist in the assembly of my octagonal bulk container. These machines were
fully automated add on machines to assist in the manufacturing of my
octagonal bulk box.

WORK HISTORY
1995-1995 Smurfit Stone :Design Manager of bulk packaging, brown box and
POP displays. I was also lead designer for customer product evaluation team.
This was a value added service to explore cost savings for our customers. I
was also the winner of the annual design competition for the Ravenna plant.
1995-1991 Stone Container: Design Manager of the Indianapolis display
plant. I designed POP displays for local and national account. I also design
packaging for automated packaging equipment case erectors, tray formers,
wholesale club packaging equipment, and the meat packing industry. I would
work with national account engineers in the design of their machinery and
packaging.
I was the Regional Cad Design Manager. I was in charge of 8 regional
manufacturing plants design departments for cad cam installation, training,
and cad support or all designers in my region.
I was also responsible for the cad cam numbering system for the corporation
cad systems. 80 some plants. I was the lead designer for their product
evaluation team. This again was a value added service to explore cost savings
for our customers.
In my tenure at Stone Container, I won 15 Design of the month competition.
1991-1988 Westvaco-Cleveland: Design Manager, POP displays, brown box,and in house testing. I was also the quality control manager for production
and manufacturing. I was the winner of the annual design competition for
Westvaco in 1990. This was the first time the Cleveland plant had ever won
this competition in the 25 years of the competition. I was also the regional
design manager for 5 plants and the Richmond, VA tech facility.
1988-1987 American Greetings: Design Manager, POP displays and wood
retail displays.
1987-1974 Mac Millan Bloedel-Cleveland: Jr. Designer, I hired to work in
production so I could learn every aspect of manufacturing before starting my
job in design. It was here that I learned the corrugated business from
production to designing. My specialties were flexographic pre-printing and
lithographic off-set. I was here that I excelled in the corrugated industry.

I currently have a web site where I design and build corvette parts that I sell
worldwide. I am the only person in the world that manufactures these specialty
parts for the C4 corvette.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Guinness World Book of record holder for dropping an egg 750 feet out of an
airplane without breaking when it hit the ground.
I hold 5 U.S. Patents for the worlds first Octagonal Bulk Box with an automatic
set-up bottom. Currently applied for my 6th patent for a unique automotive
parts tray.
Founder of a local non-profit called:
Gear Heads Helping Soldiers Families. This is a non -profit that works on
military families cars free of charge. I do this on weekends along with three of
my best friends.
