• Wakefern Foods project. DB2 v9 Enterprise Edition running on a 5 node DPF cluster. This client was experiencing
significant performance and scalability issues. Redesigned & architected the DB2 partitioning scheme enabling
data co-location. Educated / mentored application team & client DBAs on improved sql techniques & physical
database design within a DPF environment.
• Bank of America Anti-Money Laundering project. Migrate & Rearchitect AML1.4 running on Oracle 9i to AML 4.2 running
on Teradata v2r6. All SAS AML scenario code was ported and rewritten as Teradata stored procedures running within the
Teradata engine.
• US DOE project. Oracle 10gR2. The client & SAS team were experiencing performance problems with a
Student Loan Fraud Detection System. Worked with the team to troubleshoot, identify, diagnose, and ultimately
resolve performance & design problems at multiple levels. Remediation included physical database design
changes, scheduling automated maintenance, revised database parameters, and changes to the mid-tier connection
pool configuration.
• Pinnacle Entertainment Corp. Developed a large scale (15Tb) active data warehouse on Teradata v13. Patron value
optimization project which focused on improving customer relationship management, marketing automation, campaigns and
analysis.
• Worked on various other consulting engagements with an emphasis on the backend RDBMS.

• Logical and physical database design including transaction processing, ODS, and data warehouses. The primary
project was a custom credit card fraud detection system built for the world’s third largest bank. It is a high volume
oltp database and a multi-terabyte data warehouse. Average transaction rates exceed 120+ per second with
3 Tb of data moving into and out of the data stores daily.
• Established and enforced product naming conventions. Documentation of data flows, data content, data
relationships and structure, processes that manage, transform or touch data, business rules that govern the
data, durations for which data is required.
• Requirements analysis and design. Documentation of technical and functional requirements including data
availability, data volumes, response time, data security and privacy. Worked with technical architects, developers,
business owners, and end users to ensure that all specifications were captured and reflected in the product design.
• Performance tuning and troubleshooting responsibilities at the system, database, and sql levels. Including stress
testing and capacity planning.
