SUMMARY

Mechanical engineer with extensive experience in medical device product and process development

environments. This experience includes the successful transfer of products from R&D to manufacturing,

both domestically and internationally. Designed and documented components, assemblies, fixtures (static

and automated) for assembly and testing to support projects in R&D and manufacturing. Transformed those

designs into reality by using machining, rapid prototyping and hands-on assembly skills. Functioned

extremely well in a collaborative environment with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

• Product Development • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

• Process Development • CAD (SolidWorks and AutoCAD)

personnel to facilitate a successful transfer to manufacturing of major products for the company.

Created fixtures (static, automated, electrical) as needed to functionally or life-cycle test products,

components or assemblies that functioned seamlessly with the test protocols.

Provided reliable automated life-cycle and functional test fixtures at a fraction of the cost by using

PLC's instead of LabView hardware, software and a computer.

Compiled mechanical test plans for two products with minimal resources that successfully directed

the testing of each product and its components.

Initiated upgrade of lab vibration equipment with two compact units of current design and technology

that expanded the sound and vibration measurement capabilities of the lab, and are usable by any of

the engineers.

improved assembly methods.

Selected and installed impact printing system to ensure legible imprint of unique serial numbers on

components of different materials at lowest possible cost.

Initiated creation, design and machining of fixtures for testing to improve accuracy and repeatability

of tests.

Accellent - Wilmington, MA (formerly ACT Medical, Inc, Newton, MA) 1998 – 2000
