I am an engineering professional seeking a career opportunity as a mechanical engineer in a professionally challenging
environment where my technical and software abilities will benefit the company and its clients. I have up to two years'
experience working as a mechanical engineering designer in the oil and gas sector as well as up to two years' experience as
a researcher studying mechanical design optimization employing finite element analysis software.
EDUCATION
Ohio University, Athens, Ohio Graduated: August 2014
MSc, Mechanical Engineering, GPA: 3.3
Covenant University? Ogun State, Nigeria Graduated: May 2011
B. Eng. (Hons.), Mechanical Engineering, GPA: 3.52
TECHNICAL SKILLS
AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Abaqus, Matlab/Simulink, and Microsoft Office Suite
WORK EXPERIENCE
OHIO UNIVERSITY -Engineering Department, Athens, OH
Research Engineer Jan 2013 - Aug 2014
Employed finite element analysis software, Abaqus, in studying the effects on the energy absorption capacity of
thin-walled tubes; when their cross-sectional geometries are varied.
Characterized deformations types for varied cross-sectional geometries for thin-walled tubes from experimental
procedure and software analysis.
Conducted tensile test and material analysis on several materials using Instron 5567 tension / compression testing
machine, in order to assess effects of material property on tube deformation.
Assessed crushing and deformation of thin-walled tubes experimentally employing MTS 810 material testing machine.
Teaching Assistant
1. Principles of Engineering Material Jan 2014 - May 2014
2. Computer Aided Design (CAD)
Aug 2013 - Dec 2013
Assisted students in the program by learning more about their academic and social experience
Helped college students in improving their academic level and prepared them for their exams and presentations by
explaining difficult topics.
Responsible for coordinating CAD labs to help students with difficult design areas in their team CAD projects.
NATIONAL ENGINEERING AND TECHNICAL COMPANY LIMITED Mar 2012 - Nov 2012
Mechanical Engineer
Supported the mechanical design team with facilities upgrades and design assignment.
Created, updated and examined Computer Aided Drawings for oil and gas plants.
Teamed with HVAC division in designing process refrigeration systems for the gas plant.
Assisted in the development of cost estimates, project schedules, and Bill of materials for project briefs.
CHEVRON Mechanical and Piping Section, Lagos, Nigeria March 2010 - Aug 2010
Onshore and Offshore Facilities- Engineering Intern
Created, updated and examined AutoCAD P&ID drawings, and carried out changes to lines and line items as instructed by
the Process team for onshore and offshore gas facilities.
Supervised and organized technical workshops for engineering staff.
Created database for checking ordered, received and existing equipment and instrument spares for the gas plants projects
Responsible for filling out master indexes on facilities worked on.
In charge of preparing drawings needed for facility visits
In charge of creating weld diagrams and isometrics on piping layout for newly upgraded onshore and offshore gas
facilities.
Assisted engineering services team (EST) in the creation of Bill of Materials for individual upgrades.
Worked with (EST) on FEED for tank repair and upgrades by helping create new general arrangement (GA)drawings for
tanks and piping
