Objective
After the recession of 2008, I have continued to work at positions that
although provide a paycheck, do not match my skill set. I am currently
seeking a position that will more effectively match my skill set, but,
also challenge me, and provide me the opportunity to help a company
grow.
Qualifications
I have spent 20 years as a weather forecaster. It may seem that a
weather forecaster would not provide the skill set required to meet your
company goals until you consider:
A weather forecaster understands thermo-dynamics, pressure, gas laws,
and analytical interpretation
A weather forecaster possesses the customer service skills required to
be a pitch man for any business
A weather forecaster has the sales skills to make you believe the sun
will come out while rain is pounding on your head.
I have spent 7 years as a Call Center Manager. I managed a center of 52
associates. The responsibility was to provide service and sales support
to a water heater manufacturer. Our specific customer was Sears. We
provided technical, in-depth information on a customer's water heater
saving our customers and companies millions of dollars in wasted service
calls. I attended a battery of management training classes, that I'm
sure I could find certifications on if necessary.
I spent a year as a Team Leader for Toyoda Gosei, a company that
provides rubber gaskets for most major automobile manufacturers. We
provided seals for Toyota, Ford, Honda, Nissan, etc. I learned quality
assurance skills such as working with ISO9001, and a knowledge of any
number of measuring devices. I also learned injection molding skills.
I spent a year as Schwan's delivery driver, where I again utilized my
customer service and sales skills. I acquired driving skills and door-to-
door sales skills.
I spent a year as a convenience store manager. I acquired skills in
accountability and banking transactions.
I currently work for Automation Plastics as a Quality Inspector. I have
worked there for 3 years. I am well versed in reading blueprints and
the use of measuring devices. I am willing to leave my current position
because they do not promote from within and there is currently no place
for continued personal growth.
Education
I have acquired an Associates Degree from the Community College of the
Air Force in Weather Forecasting. I have the required credits for a
Bachelors Degree in Meteorology. My educational credits were earned
through classes provided through the military and are accepted at most
accredited universities, however, I have not been in any one place long
enough to give a University the time/money they require to provide the
degree.
I have countless certifications in Leadership, Management, and Technical
skills that I'm sure any company I've worked for would validate.
Other Experience
I coached youth sports leagues for over 15 years. I have done weather
presentations to the Boy Scouts. I have sat on the Board of my
subdivision in Kentucky and have supported countless community ventures.
Conclusion
I am incredibly proud of my service to this country, providing support
during Desert Storm, Bosnia-Herzoggovina, and Kosovo. During the last 7
years of service I was assigned to a Special Forces unit-the 160th
Special Operations Aviation Regiment. To give an idea of the
significance, they were the unit featured in the movie Blackhawk Down.
The training and operational pace was insane, but, very fulfilling. I
left the military in the year 2000, before the current wars kicked off,
but, I'm sure the guys I trained performed admirably. I am equally as
proud of the work I've done in the civilian world. The Call Center
Management position was a collaboration between 2 distinctly different
companies that paid dividends for both. I am active within the community
and am always willing to assist folks in need. I look forward to hearing
from you and please consider hiring the vet.
