Summary Profile

Bill has over 39 years of professional experience in management that

includes 16 years in the restaurant industry and 23 years in ministry. He

began his career in 1979 as a store trainee with Wendy's, rapidly

progressed to General Manager and with training in store operations, was

responsible for hiring, training and motivating store managers and

employees. He was promoted to District Manager and served in that position

for eleven years. During that time, he trained other GMs, was the training

facilitator in Ohio/Kentucky/Indiana, opened four training stores and three

Wendy's stores. Bill obtained expertise in P&L management, quality

assurance, management career development, human resources, recruiting, and

facilitation.

His public speaking background led him to speak at a small church and

through hard work and commitment; the church grew from seven people to over

a hundred in one year. Bill was called to a second church where he stayed

while the church searched for a senior pastor. Due to his organization and

people skills the new pastor offered him an associate position that lasted

almost six years, until the First Baptist Church of Waynesville called him

as their senior pastor. Bill was able to apply the management and training

skills learned from the restaurant industry at each church he worked with.

He was responsible for organizing ministries and training directors. His

training and people skills enabled him to successfully complete two major

building projects. He gained additional expertise in volunteer

development, pastoral counseling, fund raising, human resources, public

speaking, budget planning, teaching and hospitality. During this time he

earned a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Liberty

University.
