OBJECTIVE: To obtain a challenging position in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:
• Sound knowledge and problem solving skills in the field of Quality Engineering and Lean
Manufacturing
• Proficient in analytical and technical skills- Light Welding, Solid Edge CAD, Autodesk Inventor, Java,
C++, MS Project,Ansys, NX Nastran, Solid Works, Matlab, oracle-e business suite.
Project Trainee
Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited, Bangalore, India May 2012-
July 2013
• Increased the available time for production of part by 2 percent by calculating and plotting TAKT time
graphs using Toyota problem solving method. Used Poka Yoke inspection in reducing lot delay of
process by 1.2 seconds and suggested ways to reduce production cycle time.
• Increased workplace efficiency by reducing the machine setup time and changeover time using SMED
and OTED principles at the welding section, dealt with identification and conversion of internal setup to
external setup of operation. My suggestions were acknowledged and implemented.
• Accomplished tasks involving balancing of load and capacity, gained training in Toyota production
system, Lean Manufacturing, JIT, Kanban and Jishuken concepts. Muda- Muri concept was applied to
reduce scrap metal waste by 5 percent and resolved cause of engine overheating by using Pareto
analysis, capability analysis, cause and effect diagram and 5 Why’s method.
• Developed problem solving skills by plotting statistical process control curves, MTBF and MTTF curve.
Further gained training in 5S, 6 sigma, DFSS and GD & T.
• Performed (Safety Engineering) PHA and calculation of risk probability matrices on the frame of the
Toyota Fortuner car by taking probability of mishap and ISO standards into consideration, performed
Mort Analysis along with FMEA, PFMEA and DFMEA to point out various failure modes at the nodes.
Projects
• Performed individual Modal Analysis- Frequency analysis, Estimation of torsional stiffness, hub to hub
stiffness testing, conducted optimization analysis for weight reduction on frame of FSAE car.
Calibrated the test hammer and accelerometers to precision and compared modal shapes and
frequencies with modal testing data. We managed to reduce weight by 1.07lb. Aug 2013- April 2014
• Proposed a project and developed a Project Management Plan for FSAE car frame. Analyzed material
selection, managed to reduce FSAE car budget by 7.5 percent. Jan 2014- April
2014
• Designed a Solar storage unit that supplies hot water for 12 hours for an average sized home in Ohio
after sunshine. Calculated mass flow rate theoretically and selected a pump. March 2014- April 2014
• Gained oracle ERP supply chain management experience at Zebra Technologies May 2014- July 2014
in Lincolnshire, IL; Mapped out data conversion from old JDE legacy system to Oracle.
Community Service:
• Math and Science teacher for 11th grade and 12th grade students at Hugh Stem High School, Cincinnati.
• LAC Peer tutor for 1st year engineering students at University Of Cincinnati, Ohio. Aug 2014-
