Lead Programmer Analyst, Orkand Corporation, Research Triangle Park, NC 1992-1993

Lead a team of two programmers in the design, development and implementation of the Automated System for

Survey Information and Statistical Tools (ASSIST). This system was designed as an expert system used to

significantly improve access to National Center for Health Statistic data. The system is capable of generating an

analytical dataset regardless of its format or storage medium. The user may study the data through the use of

standard statistical tools as predefined by a user or the user may define or use their own personal statistical tools.

Another advantage in the development of the system is the capability to generate the usually complex Professional

Software for Survey Data Analysis for Multi-stage Sample Design (SUDAAN) code for the user with little or no

SUDAAN programming skills.

Programmer Analyst, Thomasville Furniture Co, Thomasville, NC 1991-1992

Designed, developed implemented and maintained an automated order services system. The system allows the

user to request an order, initiate the manufacturing of the item(s), determine the manufacturing completion date,

provide billing of the items(s) and schedule the delivery of the item(s) including any special instructions. All computer

programs were developed, tested and documented using MODEL204 and CICS.

Programmer Analyst, Synectics for Management Decisions, Washington, DC 1989-1991

Designed, developed, implemented and maintained the Aid for Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) grant

system. This system was designed to allocate grant money as designated by Congress to each applicable state.

Through data entry screens, each state submitted a request for AFDC funds, the amount requested by the state is

processed based upon the amount predetermined by Congress. A grant letter and detailed worksheet were

generated, verified and mailed. All computer programs were developed using MODEL204. Worked extensively with

the design team and developed several programs during the conversion of the system from MODEL204 to

ORACLE/SQL.

Programmer Analyst, ARC Professional Services, Washington, DC 1987-1989

Designed, developed, implemented and maintained a system used to collect and report the conditions of post

secondary education. The system consisted of data entry screens used to edit and review survey forms loaded via a

MODEL204 batch processing procedure and a management information system. The system included the capability

to extract data from the MODEL204 database where various statistical reports were developed using the SAS

language.
