Infant – Toddler Development Specialist
Seeking for a position as an Bilingual Infant-Toddler Development Specialist, to provide early
intervention program services to children with developmental delays from birth to five and their families.
Qualifications
Target Evaluation Team Member
•
Administration of the Battelle Developmental Inventory 2nd edition (BDI), the standardized
evaluation/assessment tool identified by the New Jersey Early Intervention System (NJEIS) for initial,
annual, and exit from the Early Intervention System.
Conduct initial evaluation for eligibility of children referred by the NJEIS in Essex County.
Conduct additional assessments indicating statements including clinical opinion in the decision making for
eligibility.
Participate in the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) to assist in the development of outcomes, and
EI services for the child and family.
Developmental Intervention (DI) provider
•
Work directly with the child in his natural environment.
Promote positive parent child relationship as the basis for the achievement of EI outcomes.
Develop pragmatic functions (behavioral regulation, social interaction and joint attention).
Improve cognitive skills (attention, memory, problem solving skills and understanding of concepts), pre
linguistic and socio emotional skills.
Identify activities and daily routines that can be used for learning opportunities to achieve EI outcomes.
Demonstrate and/or teach the family or caregivers the use of daily routine activities to help the child, learn
the skills within his/her developmental age.
Provide interventions supporting the family’s ability to enhance child development.
Use techniques, strategies and activities developmentally appropriate.
On going assessment to gather information about the child’s progress.
