Profile
Mr. Muehleck is a senior technical resource in the URS Oakland Office Environmental Services Department and
serves as a senior manager for hydrogeologic services in support of other URS offices in the Western United
States. He has extensive experience in soil, surface and ground water projects dealing with water supply;
environmental impact analysis; hydrogeologic aspects of construction; fluvial discharge and sediment transport;
contaminant extent, fate and transport; and RI/FS/HHERA aspects of contaminant sites leading to site
remediation and closure. Much of his work has focused on projects in the western United States for industry and
government entities. Mr. Muehleck has extensive project/program management, client and regulatory interactive
experience and is familiar with federal, state and local regulatory procedures and requirements. Water Supply and
Site Investigation/Remediation projects have included groundwater modeling components to evaluate safe yield,
groundwater/surface water interaction, contaminant fate and transport to evaluate of pre- and post- project
hydraulic conditions, and the development of CSMs in support of HHERAs and site closures. Field experience
includes a strong emphasis on many aspects of drilling; geophysical logging; monitoring, extraction, and
production well installations; soil, surface and ground water sampling; geologic mapping; slug tests and pumping
tests; cone penetrometer testing; soil gas and ground water probe sampling; and health and safety issues. Recent
projects have focused on power plant development (water supply, pumping related impacts and mitigation
measures to local aquifer and surface water systems); environmental impact analysis (NEPA/CEQA) related to
large scale developments, long-range planning and surface water/groundwater transfers and exchanges in the San
Joaquin Valley of CA; feasibility studies associated with desalination projects for public water supply; quarrying
and overburden placement operations; and oil refinery waste management and corrective actions.
