I had direct input in Konecranes Denver Service Center’s annual sales forecasts, client retention

After the sale of Owens Equipment Company to United Rentals, Inc., I assisted in developing

national and branch level business plans for industrial/construction rental equipment aftermarket

sales. Prior to the buy-out, Owens Equipment Company was one of the largest re-seller of

telescopic rough terrain forklift in North America. The business plans included safety

inspections, centralized interstate transportation logistics, national multi-media advertisement,

sales training and sales compensation programs.

President / Owner - Owens Construction Equipment Company 1989-1998

Established and built a successful full service industrial and construction equipment rental and

sales company. I hired and supervised more than 30 service, sales, parts and administrative

personnel. I set utilization goals for a rental fleet in excess of 350 pieces industrial and

construction equipment. I created annual forecast and budgets and managed facility capital

expansion.

Our sales and service departments were organized to maximize customer satisfaction and

retention while minimizing personnel turn-over. I encouraged training seminars, developed

compensation and incentive programs for hourly, salary and commissioned employees.

I purchased major capital assets, negotiated lines-of-credit and equipment flooring plans. My

company was purchased by United Rentals, Inc., North America’s largest Publicly Traded

contractor’s equipment rental company in 1998.

Sales Manager - Wagner Equipment Co., Caterpillar Dealer 1984-1989

I managed the rental and sales departments of Wagner Equipment Company’s industrial material

handling division. I hired and trained sales personnel and support staff and established a large

rental fleet of over 150 pieces of equipment consisting of aerial boom man lifts, scissor lifts,

rough terrain telescopic forklifts and industrial forklifts.

While on their expansion steering committee I helped developed some of the business strategies

for aerial reach equipment, air compressors and power generation equipment for Caterpillar’s

first dealer full service rental store in Colorado Springs.

I maintained client relationships with key industrial, construction and consumer accounts such as

Coors Brewery, Ball Corporation, Budweiser Brewery, Safeway, Lockheed Martin, M.A.

Mortenson Co., G.E. Johnson and many government agencies.

Hired to create a new parts, service, rentals and sales departments for ABBCO Caterpillar’s new

Industrial Equipment Division. Responsible for hiring sales, service and support staff within the

department. The equipment consisted of new, used and rental Caterpillar generators, Sullair

compressors, industrial and constructions forklifts, aerial man lifts, scissor lifts and agricultural

equipment.
