BACKGROUND SUMMARY

I have worked in the construction industry for over 30 years. With extensive experience in

commercial and residential construction, I have worked as construction manager for a

developer, I have owned my own companies, and worked for two commercial drywall

companies as estimator/ project manager and as the chief estimator/ project manager. I am

highly skilled in working with the software products listed, as well as having great

communication and management skills.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

CHIEF ESTIMATOR/ PROJECT MANAGER

As chief estimator, I was responsible for all phases of the bidding process and supervision

and training of the estimators working under me. We bid all types of jobs including hotels,

retail centers, office buildings, upfits and industrial spaces. In addition to the bidding

process, I produced submittals, schedule of values, purchased materials, attended job

progress meetings and managed the jobs until completion.

Key Accomplishments:

Produced bids for two office locations including NC and Virginia.

Developed and maintained the database for Onscreen Takeoff and Quickbid.

Worked with IT Company to set up Onscreen Takeoff and Quickbid on a

company server with a shared database.

Implemented and maintained the bid schedule, communicating with our existing

clients and developing relationships with new clients.

PRESIDENT, OWNER

During this period, I ran a general contracting business. I Supervised and coordinated

activities of operations including: estimating, sales, all phases of construction management,

and job supervision for the company. We performed various types of commercial and

residential work, remodeling and new construction. In late 2009, I began subcontracting

estimating work from H.E. Mintz, which led to Mr. Mintz offering me a full time position

as Chief Estimator.

Key Accomplishments H.E. Mintz, Inc. :

We successfully bid and constructed numerous projects including multiple hotels,

retail and office spaces.

Key Accomplishments Security Builders, Inc.:

Built custom and spec homes, sold and installed hurricane and security shutters.

Worked with owner and architect to plan and renovate the existing Ashley

furniture store at Monkey Junction. The project involved renovation of the

existing space while the store was in operation, and remodeling additional space

to double the size of the store. The total project was approximately 30,000 SF.

We installed security shutters for QMI Security Solutions, Chicago, Ill. at CVS

Pharmacies, Best Buy Stores, Kerr Drugs, Rite Aid and Walt-Mart Pharmacies.

ESTIMATOR/ PROJECT MANAGER

I estimated and managed projects for the company. I produced submittals, obtained

and evaluated price quotes,

Worked with Oncenter technical staff to get software installed and maintained on

our server. Installed updates.

Made database changes to work with our company.

Implemented backup procedures and maintained backups for database and

electronic drawings.

GW Lewis Development, Inc., Wilmington, NC August, 1986- April 1999

PRESIDENT, OWNER

As owner I handled all phases of the business including bidding, marketing, bookkeeping,

purchasing, and construction. I built 4 homes on Figure Eight Island, homes in Providence,

Turtle Hall, Topsail Island, Porter’s Neck and many others. I built the Turnstone

subdivision, and 3 of the homes there. During this time, my company also completed

numerous remodels and additions.

Key Accomplishments:

Purchased and developed the land for the Turnstone Subdivision on Greenville

Loop Road. Obtained engineering plans and approvals for subdivision. Built all

infrastructure (water, sewer, street curb and gutter).

Completed approximately 100 new homes and remodeling projects.

Worked as project manager/ on site builder for the Mason Knoll Subdivision. Built Club

House, Lake and infrastructure.

REGIONAL TRUCK DRIVER

I pick up and deliverer tanker bulk materials. I load and unload liquid bulk materials, most

of them hazardous. My duties include making scheduled on time deliveries, following

proper procedures for handling these materials, and interacting with shippers and

consignees. I have TWIC, Doubles & HAZMAT endorsements.

RESIDENTIAL CLAIMS ADJUSTER

As claims are assigned, I contact clients, scheduled and perform inspections to assess

damages for insurance companies. I was required to photograph the damages and write

estimates in Xactimate 27.3. I attended a class for MetLife Claims adjustment class and

have obtained a MetLife Certification.

Pilot Catastrophe, Mobile, Alabama August 29, 2011- October 26, 2011

CAT ADJUSTER, PHILADELPHIA, PA

After Hurricane Irene- I contacted clients, scheduled and performed inspections including

photographs. After inspecting the damages, I wrote my estimates in Xactimate 27.3, then I

followed up with clients to explain my estimate and their coverage and deductible. I was

responsible for entering the information into Allstate’s Next Gen system, and making

payments to clients. After fours days of orientation I closed133 claims with an average

payout of $2,700.

KLLM Transport June 2011- August 2011

OVER THE ROAD TRUCK DRIVER

Picked up and delivered freight in all areas of the country. I was responsible for making

scheduled pick ups and deliveries of various types of freight, dry and refrigerated. I had to

keep accurate log records of my driving and work hours, bills of lading, maintenance and

fuel. I have TWIC, Doubles & HAZMAT endorsements .
