PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN DURING CURRICULUM
Project Title (Diploma) – Spy Robotic Vehicle
Objective – To build a robot which is less in cost and can be used to pick and place small objects
which is hazardous in existence. The prime motto behind this project was not to endanger the human
life. This is the most advanced version of “Pick n Place Robot” perhaps and most popular and widely
used in industries. A person from a remote place can comfortably control the motion of robotic arm
without any wire connection. Here a man from a remote place of around 50-100 meters range sitting on
his chair with his computer can easily control the mechanism by the keyboard. An ASK transmitter
attached with microcontroller transmits the controlling codes. These codes are received by ASK
receiver, decoded and given to 89S52 which then controls the motion of robotic arm. So as per user
command through computer the motion of robotic arm is controlled from a remote place without any
wire connection.

Mr. Mansur Ali Khan (Head of Department, Automobile Engineering)
Location – Mechanical Department, Acharya Polytechnic, Bangalore 560090
Project Title (B.E.) – Regenerating Energy Using Bicycle with Flywheel
Objective – Energy is always lost in friction. If a part of that energy can be recovered, it helps in
improving fuel economy of a vehicle or any machine that consumes petroleum products, ranging from
airplanes to drill rigs. This is a concept of regenerative energy. Kinetic Energy Recovery System
(K.E.R.S) is one such method used for regenerative energy and braking. It is much like a Hybrid
vehicle where petrol/diesel will be used as the primary energy source, with the collected energy being
used to supplement it. The project analyzes the principle, construction and working of K.E.R.S and
proposes various new fields where its introduction is feasible. So, an effort has been made in this
project to store and recall the energy as required with the help of flywheel which is coupled with the
rear wheel of bicycle.
