Supports a full SDLC that consist of Development, Test, Stage, UAT and

Production environments. I manage Oracle 11g R2 on both Windows and Linux

environment on a VCS cluster that automates database and application

failover within a multiple remote data center. We use Tomcat/Weblogic

servers as a major part of the application servers, and on daily bases, I

use Oracle tools such as the OEM, AWR, TOAD to closely monitor and enhance

the performance of the database for end users. Data security and data

encryption is also an essential part of my daily responsibilities.

. Perform database tuning with available Oracle tools such as TOAD, OEM,

SQL Developer

. Constantly monitor database avalability, space management

. Work in a database environment hosting tomcat/weblogic application

servers daily

. Provide adequate support to developers and architects in the

development life cycle of the software

. Meet with team leads from various departments to ensure proper

understanding and easy communication of the development strategy

. Perform capacity planning in terms of memory and disk usage,

establishing benchmarks for business and technical performance

. Transform the backup and recovery tasks on Oracle database from using

the USERMANAGE backup to using RMAN tool for fast, efficient and more

accurate backup and recovery

. Perform a flashback and point in time recovery when necessary

. Part of the team that designs the continuity of operations (COOP)

guideline incase of disaster or any type of failure

. Creating a database recovery catalog and registering databases to the

recovery catalog for efficient backup and recovery

. Scheduling backups and daily monitor jobs using shell script with

crontab utility

. Support system administration groups with maintaining oracle database

servers and in development, test, stage, and development environments
