5/13 - 9/2014 IMS Gear, Gainesville, GA

IMS Gear is a leading company in gear and transmission technology - with

international presence, as a partner for globally operating customers,

primarily focused within the automotive industry.

Business Unit General Manager

Hired as the General Manager for an international automotive parts

manufacturer to oversee manufacturing, quality, engineering, logistics,

supply chain and customer relations. The products manufactured are related

to the metals and injection molding operations.

. Directly supervise two Manufacturing Managers, a Logistics and

Controlling Manager, a Product Manager, and a Process Engineer for a 24

hour - 7 day operation.

. This is a "Turn Around" opportunity where I took the company from minus

10% to a plus 5% EBIT in 11 months.

. Utilize PLEX software to perform all aspects of department operations,

including payroll, ordering, billing, inventory, and distribution.

. Ensure compliance with capital and expense operating budgets with full

P&L responsibility in a turn-around operation.

. Work with manufacturing and quality engineers to keep operations on

schedule and achieve perfect quality to the customer.

. Travel to meet and maintain relations with domestic and international

automotive suppliers and customers.

. Improved the quality of the work force and strengthened employee morale

by sharing KPI metrics within all employee meetings on a monthly basis as

well as initiating a 30/60/90 day review process.

. Reduced WIP by 25% utilizing Kanban stations based on strategic lot

sizes.

3/13 - 5/13 NuTec Tooling Systems, Meadville, PA

NuTec provides cost-effective, turn-key design and build services for many

world class manufacturing clients. NuTec produces equipment ranging from

simple workstations or fixtures to sophisticated full automation solutions.

Project Manager

Serve as a project manager for a full system re-build for Duracell "Cap and

Nail" anode automation equipment. This equipment produced 600 parts per

minute. Project was completed on time and on budget.

Busch Manufacturing is a global leader in the design and manufacture of

industrial vacuum pumps. The company is internationally recognized for

innovative design, product quality, and industrial application leadership.

Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Manage the Manufacturing Engineering department in order to provide

leadership and technical support for current production, new product

development, production improvement and to identify possible new areas for

technical exploration.

. Managed the CAD/CAM group which included; CNC programming, process

engineering for CNC machinery (3 Makino HMCs, 2 Mori Seiki HMCs, Mori Seiki

and Okuma Lathes) with tolerances at +/- 5 micron. Additionally, the

presales engineering group reported to me. CAD Software was Unigraphics

NX. The department developed labor rates for production control and cost

estimating.

. Managed the maintenance department for all equipment (planned and

unplanned maintenance).

. Facilitated a plant floor layout change to allow for a new HMC and

facilitate a "tour group" walking aisle without impacting cellular

manufacturing functionality.

. Established budgets and schedules for machine programming, maintenance,

tool room teams, as well as manages safety, Lean Manufacturing, and machine

shop.

. Analyzed present manufacturing processes and equipment and propose

improvements to reduce waste and variation.

. Managed the analysis, testing, and selection of tooling; both perishable

and non-perishable; to ensure optimization of cutting processes.

6/07 - 9/11 Cadence, Inc., Staunton, VA

Cadence, Inc. is a custom manufacturer of cutting and piercing instruments

specializing in quick turn-high precision knives for both industrial and

medical applications in two separate facilities.

Manufacturing Manager

Provided management in a team-based organization for six direct reports and

95 indirect reports including maintenance and facilities.

. Managed the production for all machinery within the operation, including

(18 - 10 axis custom CNC grinders, 10 CNC custom tube grinders, 4 - CNC

laser cutters, 3 CNC lasers welders, CNC laser welding, CNC Wire EDM,

Engel Vertical Injecting Modeling and Pad Printing, Heat treating furnaces

as well as a robotic controlled cleaning system.

. Managed the CNC programming/tooling group. The group used canned

packages with assembly code as well as DP Esprit.

. Promote a lean manufacturing perspective of evaluating orders and pulling

them through the system. This process has improved machine efficiency by

15%.

. Led a cross functional team, including Design and Manufacturing

Engineering and Sales that facilitated the installation of a laser

welded/injection molded, medical device component. Results include: 35%

profit margin, adding additional capacity to be able to go from 40,000 to

130,000 units per month, added a third shift which included 15 additional

direct associates.

. Managed 6 Manufacturing Specialists (Technical Supervisors) in a 3 shift

manufacturing facility.

. Implemented a full time training system including a cross training

program that is utilized by the production control department for staffing

and overtime schedules.

. Managed a 4 person maintenance group of which my team has implemented a

Preventative Maintenance program for over 100 pieces of High Technology

equipment. This increased uptime from 80% to greater than 90%.

. Defined and implemented a program to decrease equipment downtime which

has reduced the number of emergency repairs by 30%. This included

analyzing data of equipment breakdowns, working with engineering to make

mechanical and electrical modifications and installing controls to verify

the implementation was successful.

. Developed/managed capital and operating budgets including P&L

performance.

. Managed facilities based vendors including annual contracts.

communication with implementation and sales personnel to verify product

stability throughout "Beta" testing.

. Work with supply chain management team to develop sales-based production

Senior Project Engineer

Responsibilities: analysis of client situation; strategy development to

focusing on most advantageous scenario for obtaining optimal operation

performance. Promoted additional consulting services to upper management.

. Harley-Davidson: Prepared labor and process requirements definition for

automated cosmetic paint application of motorcycle fenders and gas tanks.

4/96 - 4/00 Alcoa Engineered Products Inc., Cressona, PA

This Alcoa facility produces aluminum-extruded products for several markets

including transportation, building and construction and engineered extruded

shapes. Tool and die manufacture through final shape fabrication is

completed in one location.

Senior Manufacturing Engineer

. Developed operational methods for most efficient utilization of

personnel, equipment, and materials utilizing Just In Time manufacturing

(JIT), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Cellular Layout. Results:

increased profits of 13%. This included decentralizing 15 pieces of CNC

equipment to facilitate 1 piece flow manufacturing.

. Evaluated/purchased a Korner CNC High Speed Machining Center for

manufacture of tooling. Results: 30% reduction in machining time.

Included vendor site visit in Germany and references in the Netherlands and

Belgium.

. Justified, purchased, and implemented additional equipment for capacity

increases including 1 Monarch CNC VMC.

. Justified, purchased and implemented 1 Makino CNC HMC with a 25,000 RPM
