I have Extensive experience in Production Event Management and Technical Direction in the

Entertainment Arts industry. Successfully was able to provide multi-million-dollar on-budget, quality

productions that satisfied staff, crew, performers, and audiences. Supervised crew and oversaw all

financial technical aspects of over 100+ productions. Collaborated and maintained open

communications with multiple departments, especially finance, event managers, and outside vendors.

Rebuilt and managed purchasing and payroll data entry system for 5 labor unions and finance

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

THE ARMORY COMMUNITY CENTER, San Francisco, California 2013-PRESENT

Production Event Manager (2013-Present)

• Creating initial 40,000 square ft. Armory into an Event Center

• Managing and running the load and performances of A.C.T.’s touring production of Black Watch

which is the first official Armory Community Center big Event

SAN FRANCISCO BALLET, San Francisco, California 2007-2012

Production Manager (2007-2012)

Assistant Acting Technical Director (2007-2008)

• Created, managed, and tracked multi-million-dollar production budgets for 100 + ballet

productions, including the $3M 75th anniversary season with 10 world premiere productions in a

two-week period while consistently staying within or under budget.

• Modified and streamlined the payroll data entry system for union labor and department, resulting

in a simplified process, minimal mistakes, and a 20% reduction in work hours for both

departments. This modification saved the company $6K per week.

• Partnered with San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Ballet department heads, War Memorial

Opera House staff, and Stage Technologies to create and manage the $10M budget for upgrading

technology at the War Memorial Opera House, which came in 15% under budget.

• Improved and coordinated the entire purchasing process for all production needs, including all

new builds, consistently reduced the process time by 15 – 20%, effectively saving the company

$15K to $20K per season.

• Organized and led backstage tours for major donors in conjunction with the development

department, significantly increasing operating revenue.

• Supervised the $1.4 M budgeted stage crew during the season, enhancing the efficiency of the

performances and special events by keeping them on time and within budget.

• Managed and handled all technical financial aspects of several $2M+ international tours,

including travelling to, and communicating with the different event venues, creating the

budgets/technical riders, overseeing the labor, and ensuring all tours were within or under budget.

• Oversaw and collaborated with the Scene Shop Foreman and Lead Scenic Artist, ensuring $300K

to $3M budgeted new productions were within or under budget 100% of the time.

SAN FRANCISCO OPERA AND BALLET, San Francisco, California 1997-2007

Head Scenic Carpenter/ Shop Foreman (2005-2007)

• Generated cost estimates for $300K to $3M projects for the San Francisco Opera and Ballet,

ensuring they met budget.

• Overhauled and digitized the budget tracking system, thereby reducing the work hours needed to

input data and paperwork by 50%. This with increased digital communication between all

departments, added up to a savings of about $1.7K per week in my time alone.

• Identified and reduced construction costs for both labor and materials, saving both companies

15% -20% (about $30K) in production costs.

Carpenter Mechanic (1997-2005)

• Appointed Head Carpenter for Opera Center productions and worked independently with

designers, event staff, and crew to build, install, strike, and complete 25+ productions Each of

these productions were budgeted between $50K and $200K, and were within or under budget..

• Managed construction crews on various projects and was promoted as the shop expert on

theatrical building techniques and full-scale soft good backdrops.

• Selected as Shop Trainer due to highest construction quality and speed of work.
