Design Engineer-Automotive Acoustics
Design and development of speaker components for BMW, Hyundai, Kia,
Toyota, Chrysler, Subaru, Geely, Tata, Ssanyong, BYD, and other
automotive manufacturers in conjunction with various Harman engineering
groups.
Responsibilities include:
. Daily use of Catia V5 (r22) to create new designs or modify existing
designs based on requirements such as available package space,
mounting points, customer specifications, supplier manufacturability
and Harman best practices.
. Collaborate with VAVE, Advanced Manufacturing, Procurement, Program
Management and other internal groups to identify, brainstorm, evaluate
and investigate ideas for cost savings on existing and future programs
without jeopardizing the quality of our product. Achieved over $300k
cost savings through independent negotiation and over $250k
collaboratively.
. Creation and management of design change notification documents after
3D/2D changes are completed in order to release new
components/assemblies/bill of materials for production, modify
existing parts, make plant line transfers, etc.
. Utilize ODA, SAP, Product Center and WindChill as tools for general
data management.
. Use DFMEA, DRBFM and FLDRC analysis methods to ensure successful
design and manufacture of Harman products.
. Apply stack up tolerance and GD&T methods to ensure proper fit and
function of speaker assemblies and communicate crucial part feature
relationships to supplier.
. Create mock up parts in house to test assembly and manufacturing
improvements.
. Proven ability to work successfully with Harman engineering members to
design, create and maintain sustainable, superior quality automotive
speaker assemblies.

2010 Sienna. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
. Design part (Both 3D and 2D, following customer

changes to each part

. Train new employees and Senior Engineers to use GPS system
. Update 3D part, 2D drawings, create Engineering Change documents
and release into global system.
