Regional Transportation Coordinator
Duties and Responsibilities Included:
• Develop and implement centralized regional transportation network and routing
program for individual regional distribution centers (“RDCs”) in the Northeast U.S.
• Daily management of regional transportation activities through the use of Roadnet to
ensure efficient and timely movement of flooring product to and from customers
• Establish and maintain systems to track and document product movement from
manufacturer, to RDCs, and individual customers
• Identify opportunities for route optimization and cube utilization potentially including
weekly dedicated route planning based on projected demand
• Act as primary point of contact for all transportation related inquiries and develop
transportation schedules for pick-up of product at customer facilities
• Responsible for monitoring and compiling actual data versus planned data of
scheduled routes
• Monitor adherence to schedules and review carrier performance against KPIs and
objectives for both company drivers and outside transportation service providers
• Responsible for travel to satellite Northeast RDCs to ensure training and compliance
of program.
• Daily communication and oversight of local coordinators regarding availability of
drivers and special retail customer requests
• Supervise 17+ Class A commercial drivers; monitor driver E-logs; monitor maintenance
of tractors and trailers
• Perform daily safety inspections and organize weekly safety meetings and to ensure
compliance with all state, federal and company-implemented operational and safety
standards and practices
• Monitor shipping and receiving of freight daily, compiling data for weekly and monthly
reports; prepare daily scheduling, routing and product billing
Prior positions within company include Lift Truck Operator, Shipping Expeditor, Warehouse
Expeditor, Hard Surfaces Expeditor, Transportation Coordinator (local); duties and responsibilities
for these progressive positions at the company’s Cypress, CA, Las Vegas, NV and Pittsburgh, PA
facilities included:
• Utilize Glink (AS400) in an automated facility
• Reconfigure warehouse zoning to comply with safety requirements, optimize ease in
shipping, receiving, order production and minimize damages
• Report directly to Regional Operations Manager in implementing automated
warehouse management system
• Certified lift truck operator and trainer; assigned work duties and supervised lift truck
operators
• Manage and process all aspects of hard surface (tile, hardwoods, laminate) and
