. Provided production-support, managed and maintained the company's E-
Commerce production, standby, development and UAT databases and the
health of the Solaris servers that hosted these databases.
. Revamped the old backup/recovery strategy and implemented a better,
robust strategy to ensure high database availability and to reduce Mean
Time To Recover (MTTR). This included increasing hardware redundancy to
avoid a single point of failure, performing incremental, cumulative
backups, implementing backup procedures, testing backups and preparing
Disaster Recovery plan.
. Analyzed the Oracle Text based search engine on the Channing-Bete portal
and prepared efficient queries based on a better indexing scheme to
expedite search response times.
. Converted legacy Objective C code written for the
EnterpriseObjectsFramework based WebObjects Application Server into
equivalent SQL queries to be executed through JDBC.
. Set database audit trail, complemented that with trigger based auditing,
to detect unauthorized access to critical data. It was also used to
