Moron, Venezuela.
- Oversee and manage the plan, design and construction of the 160,000 m 2 warehouse for the Pequiven
Ammonia Plant Moron Venezuela.
- Supervised general labor, installation of walls and roof workers.
- Worked with General Contractor to estimate projects and develop proposals.
- Managed daily project completion and trades coordination.
- Reviewed blue prints and design before installation.
When hired to take over this project, there was a deficit of Bs. 800k, and projected losses of over Bs. 2
million. Thanks to an extensive training to the work force, negotiations with providers and workers
union and achieving engagement from workers, it was possible to substantially increase production
rates, increase quality of the work done and reduce costs of construction. The results were a net profit of
Bs. 1,8 millon, reduced expected time of completion and gaining an additional contract for another
construction project.

2010
- Developed plans for efficient use of materials, machines and employees; including reduction of
material cost by 8%, reduction of overtime by 5% and increase on production rates from 4,400 to 5,100
lbs/hr and several other improvements that resulted in an increase of gross margin each year as plant
manager from $750,000 on the first year to $1.3 million YTD in 2010.
- Created and maintained all environmental permits and documentation, which included the creation of
our Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), yearly Storm Water Report, Best Management
Practices (BPM’s) and training.
- Lead auditor for the ISO 9000 program. Develop, updated and successfully conducted several audits
from customers and accreditation consulting firms.
- Accountable for the company safety programs ensuring that safety rules are properly followed and
actively look out for opportunities to promote a safer workplace. 0 LTA’s during employment.
- Design a heat recovery system for our gas furnace that resulted in savings of $60,000 annually and 8%
less usage of combustion gas.
- In charge for the daily management, scheduling, and monitoring of assigned production campaigns that
guaranteed the highest level of quality and output while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Generated yearly budget and made recommendations to top management.
METALLURGIST, PHELPS DODGE MORENCI INC. November 2005 – July
2007
Resource Management/Stockpiles Division.
- Designed a $95K project to increase acid concentration on raffinate flow to stockpiles.
- Performed a study on the North West leach system to determine if acid cured stockpiles have higher
copper recovery that resulted in an opportunity to produce 500,000 lbs of additional copper.
- Prepared monthly presentations for PD Morenci management.
- Supervised 4 samplers collecting data for Coronado Diversion.
- Planned weekly water changes/flow balance at all ROM stockpiles and coordinated changes with SX
personnel.
- Organized and prepared weekly coordination meetings between the Leaching and SX/EW Divisions.
- Performed water balances of over 130,000 gpm total flows for different flow systems.
- Designed, programmed, and built spreadsheets to extract data from databases to generate a daily report
of flow balances and stream assays.
