Responsible for the quality and reliability design aspect of the wireless

(Centrino Brand) products, as well as all the testing required to evaluate

and qualify wireless products for high volume (millions per month)

manufacturing. My team also supported continuous improvement programs

(resulting in a sub 500DPM product) at our contract manufactures in China

and Malaysia. Also worked directly with customers to resolve issues as

well as educate them on the use of new manufacturing technologies.

. Risk Management: Coached engineers on their role as part of the product

development team. Results: Quality engineers were no longer viewed as

gatekeepers, but as valued team members that provided data and helped

to assess risk.

2003 - 2005 Applications Engineering Manager

Enabled notebook technologies that are targeted for sale through the Intel

channel. Worked directly with the ODM design teams (Taiwan, China) in an

effort to promote new technologies and ensure that the designs are of good

quality. Coordinated the ODM system evaluations within Intel labs for

various aspects of system performance (including power consumption,

thermals, high-speed bus performance, wireless through put, and overall

system performance).

. Gathered data from internal testing and customer feedback. Applied

statistical methods to produce reports needed for communications and

problem solving within the management team. Results: There was an

approximate two week delay in the launch of the product, but more

importantly, the product met or exceeded all stated specifications and

quality goals. Product volume ramped in a short time and the product

exceeded financial expectations.

1996 - 2003 Quality Engineer - Quality Engineering Manager

Quality Engineer for the Mobile Modules Operation (Manufactured notebook

processor modules that included on board voltage regulation, processor,

memory controller and memory). Responsible for the product qualification

of the 500 DPM processor modules that were being produced by the Intel

boards and system manufacturing organization.

. Design Engineering: Technical skills include electronic engineering as

well as the American Society of Quality (ASQ) body of knowledge.

Results: Initial product improvement as well as the ability to work

through issues that may arise during volume ramp and production.

. Information Interpretation: Trained engineering teams on the use of

statistical tolerances. Results: Improved design practices that

allowed more margins for suppliers. This ultimately reduces the cost

of manufacturing and product inspection.
