Academic Projects (M.Tech.)

CONTROL AND POWER MANAGEMENT SUBSYSTEM FOR AN ASIC

ENERGY HARVESTING SYSTEM

o Tools Used: Cadence Tool Simulators (Spectre, AMS, Encounter RTL compiler)

o Duration: 12 months

It is an ASIC based Energy Harvesting System which combines energy from four

different sources solar, thermal, vibration and RF. The prime motives of the project are to power

up the wireless sensors and wearable devices from ambient energy sources and remove the use of

batteries. A capacitor based initial startup circuit for solar energy harvesting and a super

capacitor has been employed for storing the harvested energy.

Comparing with the existing energy harvesting system architectures, this system uses

four energy sources while others have maximum three energy sources. Most of the previous

architectures use battery to start the system but this is a batteryless system and uses a capacitor

based startup circuit.

Acedemic Projects (B.Tech.)

EMBEDDED WEB SERVER

o Languages Used: Embedded C, Java

o Duration: 6 months

The aim of this project is the complete automation of an industry with the help of

microcontroller and web server. Sitting anywhere around the globe one can access, monitor and

control the functions of industry. This incorporates all the necessary set up for serving the

security concerns regarding the industry.

Entire system is monitored by a camera and the authorized person can access and control

the system anywhere in the internet. The hardware part is implemented using PIC16F877A and

web server is developed using platform independent programming language JAVA. Project has

applications in Iron bar industry, Gas filling station; Electronic industry and house hold

appliances.

PICK AND PLACE ROBOT

o Languages Used: Embedded C

o Duration: 6 months

It is a robot which can be used to take material from one position and place it to the

destination and again return to the same position. Hardware part mainly consists of mechanical

systems and software part consists of electronic systems.

Mechanical part includes a base which rotates left and right with respect to the robot’s

initial position, intermediate part which moves up and down and top part is a jaw which locks

and unlocks an object. Electronics part consists of 89C51 microcontroller, Step down

transformer, Driver ICs and Voltage regulators.
