Independently examined the effects of hydrogen sulfide on fluorescence emission in prehistoric moss species.

Routinely prepared dilutions of hydrogen sulfide, dosed moss species, and performed fluorescence analysis using a

Fluorcam at specified increments. Research data led to publication in Plos One Journal.

Worked in conjunction with graduate students in a synthetic biology competition to develop an inexpensive

and efficient method to control gene expression using light. Responsible for independently cloning plasmids,

bacterial transformations, and media prep. As well, learned new techniques: gel extraction, DNA purification,

and PCR.
