ACADEMIC PROJECT

Title : studies and evaluation of phytosynthetic silver

nanoparticles against UTI causing pathogens.

Summary : A novel, rapid and eco friendly synthesis of silver

nanoparticles using extract from two indigenous plants namely Neem-

Azadirachta indica, Tulsi - Ocimum sanctum has been attempted and tested

their antibacterial activity against Urinary tract pathogens isolated from

the samples of infected patients. Urinary tract pathogens were carefully

isolated from the mid stream urine samples of infected patients and were

cultured in selective medium, following organisms were identified from the

UTI infected patients urine sample such as E.coli, Staphylococcus aureus,

Proteus sps and Pseudomonas sps.

Microbial techniques : Media preparation, plating,

staining of organism.

Histological techniques : Paraffin sectioning of tissue.

Immunological techniques : ELISA, RIA.

Molecular techniques : SDS- PAGE, Isolation of DNA.

Chromatographic techniques : Paper chromatography, TLC, affinity

chromatography.
