In my role as a nursing coordinator in this hectic home health care agency,
I have been responsible for the administration, direction and coordination
of all nursing activities in a large geographical region. I accept client
referrals from CCAC and match nurses with clients based on acuity, new
medical orders/treatments, and any abrupt changes in a clients condition
while at home. I organize and follow through with their plan of care from
admission to discharge.
My role has allowed me to develop strong professional relationships with
nurses, case managers, supervisors, colleagues and doctors, based on a
strong medical terminology understanding, empathy and compassion.
Medical Office Assistant
MEADOWLARK FAMILY PHYSCIANS - Edmonton, AB
June 2007 to June 2010
In this receptionist/nurse role in a 5 doctor GP practice, I was
responsible for both the administration and front line medical triage for
their patients. Fielding phone calls from clients daily for issues that I
was able to assess over the phone and deem an appointment necessary and how
soon.
I did all procedure bookings, scans, blood tests and booked all specialist
appointments. Upon entry to each examination room, I was responsible for a
brief history taking and reason for visit. This may or may not warrant a
height, weight, vital sign check, or hearing or vision test. I also
administered allergy injections, and B12 shots.

immediate need for help- 911 or windows of opportunity and at what center
they could seek this help.

apprehensive clients with a kind and confident voice manner coupled with

Registered Nurse
HOSPITAL FOR SICK CHILDREN - Toronto, ON
December 1993 to June 2002
Registered Nurse for 9 years in this world renowned pediatric facility. I
was a nurse in both the NICU and The PACU during my 9 years with this
hospital and experienced the best nursing of my career to date.
The NICU had 1:1 nursing ratios as the infants were extremely ill from
prematurity, birth defects, asphyxia, and syndromes. Nursing in this unit
was fast paced and I used knowledge, skill and judgement every day that I
worked.
PACU was a 22 bed very busy recovery room, with airway management and pain
control being the focus of my intervention.
