CAREER SUMMARY
Well-experienced with broad-based experience including different phases of chemistry research, chemical engineering,
trained in chemical experiment skills, SOPs and lab procedures; Good team player and experienced on LCMS Panel
method development. Experience on clinical toxicology lab tests for drug abuse and pain management
EXPERIENCE
LabPro Chicago Inc., Westmont, IL Sep 2013 – Present
LCMS Scientist
• Method development of 4 drug panels including common opiates, benzodiazepines & analgesics, Tricyclic anti-
depressants, Cannabinoid, Amphetamine stimulants, Barbiturates and bath salt as well as alcohol metabolism
• Sample prep, data explore and result review; Daily maintenance of two instruments including trouble shootings at least
once a week (the instruments just keep error out every week)
• Reviewing requisition of patients and sorting medication related to our test (pain management and drug abuse) before
releasing our result
Agilent Technology, Beijing, China May 2010 – Oct 2010
Research Intern
• Trained with Agilent chemistry and mass hunter work station quantitative and qualitative software and method
developments
• Knowing mechanism of how Agilent HPLC and mass spectrometry works and conduct daily maintenance
• Trained with sample prep skills and SOPs
Tsinghua University and China Institute of Metrology, Beijing, China Jun 2009 Jul 2010
Project: The application of Mass Spectrometry in Environmental Analysis
• Improved LTP ionization efficiency of DBDI (dielectric barrier discharge ionization) mini-MS system by adding the
glass wool and ionic pump through a three-way valve connected with DBDI probe
• Method development for the DBDI-MS(trial aborted due to the issue of the ownership of the instrument)
Academic Projects
Novel Copolymers of Ring Substituted Methyl 2 Cyano 3 Phenyl 2 Propenoates and Styrene
• The goal of this project was to synthesize a new copolymer from a Tri-substituted ethylene (TSE) and styrene. The
TSE was prepared from an R-benzaldehyde and methyl cyanoacetae by a crossed aldol reaction using piperidine as a
base catalyst.
• The novel copolymer was then characterized.
Investigation of Oxidative coupling polymerizations of conjugated polymers
• The goal of this project was to investigate the properties of conjugated polymers with respect to their potential to be
electroluminescence of LED materials
