Duties: As a MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST I worked in areas of Hematology, Chemistry, Body Fluid

Analysis, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Microbiology and rapid Immunology. I performed a variety of

moderate to high complex testing in a fast-paced laboratory, utilizing both manual and automated

processes. Performed procedures associated with the identification of human blood constituents, the

study of the coagulation system, and body fluid analysis using complex CBC, coagulation analyzers and

manual counts. I prepared and stained slides for microscopic manual differentials and red blood cell

morphology. I utilized critical judgment in the identification of human blood components, particularly in

white cell differentials.

Independently performed routine and non-routine testing of specimens received in the laboratory

according to established laboratory protocol and procedures. Documented, performed additional testing

and accurately resulted stats, abnormals and other categories of special requests as defined by laboratory

policy that required immediate attention from physician.

Multi-tasked to perform maintenance, calibration and quality control of equipment and instruments as

needed to verify correct instrument operation. Investigated, and reported test results in a timely manner.

Followed laboratory and hospital policy for universal precautions and engaged in regular use of personal

protective equipment to ensure lab compliance with accrediting agencies.

Have professional knowledge of the physiological changes that affect sample stability and test accuracy.

Processed and evaluated specimens for acceptability intended for proper testing. Preformed KOH preps

and identified gram stain organisms. Processed, plated and identified through gram staining preliminary

organisms on positive blood culture bottles.

Duties: As a MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN worked 4 years in a clinical laboratory that did

expose me regularly to hazards such as infectious materials, chemicals, and electrical appliances.
