EXPERIENCE

Since June 09 Suez Steel company, Egypt

Designation : Project Engineer (Electrical & Instrumentation)

Erection and commissioning of world's largest DRI (Process Gas plant) and 2 steel rolling

mill plants comprising of rebars, spools, coils.

Role involved :

• In the design phase of our project,

1. I was involved in reviewing the design, doing engineering like preparing I/O list, cable

list, instrument list, material management, manpower/ resource allocation, feasibility

study, contract finalization.

2. Reviewing control system architecture, consoles, EWS,OWS,PWS design, DCS system,

ESD using PCS 7 system

3. Worked in preparing cable list, instruments list, BOQ etc.

• During erection phase I was involved in installation activities of electrical &

instrumentation equipment’s of DRI process gas plant, comprising of 11kv & 6.6 kv

metalclad switchboard, instrumentation using HART & Profibus instruments, PCS-7 DCS

system comprising of 4 PLC’s, RTU’s, Safety PLC, ESD, HART & Profibus-PA

instruments, with around 5000 I/O’s.

1. Managed a huge manpower of engineers/supervisors in EPC projects.

2. Installed and commissioned up to 40MVA transformers and 33kv switchgears using

Siemens and ABB breakers, AC/DC drives of Siemens.

3. Installation of metalclad switchboards, MCC panels, Remote I/O panels, telemetry

units,

4. I have huge experience in termination of MV cables, LV cables.

5. Well versed with Installation & calibration of all types of HART & Profibus PA (ex & non-

EX) instruments of all major brands including GE Bently-Nevada 3500 vibration

monitoring, nuclear sensors, radar instruments, master calibration equipment’s, Belt

scale.

6. I had installed various analyzers including mass spectrometer, specific gravity with

HVAC unit for O2, CO, wobbe, H2S, and remote 6 process streams sampling units.

7. I was involved in doing technical study of design and in selecting instruments.

8. Installation and commissioning of network, signal & control cables using profibus DP,

Profibus PA, fiber optic, ethernet networks etc.

9. I had been into reviewing and maintaining documentation; with latest revisions all types

of erection documents like P& ID, PFD, PAD, SLD, Hook-up, Control system

architecture, Cable list, location drawings. I have worked in SIS (Safety Instrumentation

System) for our gas plant.

• In the commissioning/start-up/maintenance phase, I was involved with Daneili

automation team.

1. In the pre-commissioning stage, I was into preparing loop folders, documentation of as

built, according to open/closed loops, preparing daily report for loop checks.

2. Testing commissioning of switchboards, all tests corresponding to MV cables hi-pot test,

Checking loops according to the functional description & cause and effect matrix.

3. Commissioning of the above plants with the Danieli automation team.

4. Involved in erection & commissioning of natural gas metering skid (PRMS) with

EMERSSON flow computer under the design of RMG ( Honeywell).

5. Involved in erection & commissioning of multidisciplinary equipments like flare stack,

lime hydration plant, thermal oxidizer, water treatment plant including softner plant.

6. Involved in mechanical erection activities with installation of conveyors, silos, boilers,

compressors, EOT cranes upto 40 tons.

7. I have also worked in piping for installation of pipelines for water & gas applications,

flushing, pressure testing, leak test, chemical cleaning, pickling, pipe supports.

8. Worked in a Steam generation plant which produces steam 25ton/hr at 225 c, and also huge

material handling system involving some 17 conveyors.

9. Involved in installing Intercom system, CCTV systems using D-Link cameras (standard &

PTZ type) firefighting / detection & alarm system according to NFPA standards for the

entire plant which included, clean agent(argon), CO2, water spray, sprinkler systems.

Closely involved in all project activities to ensure it is completed according to the time schedule,

within budget and also according to HSE norms. By meeting with sub-supplier, technological

team (Danieli) and management to understand the progress and solve the lag.

Feb’09 ~ June’ 09 Effluent Treatment Plant, (Ambur and Tiruppur)

Designation : Project Engineer

1. In the centralized Water Treatment Plant catering to all Leather Tanneries in the city my

responsibilities included closely following with the erection/ commissioning/maintenance

activities of instrumentation and automation part.

2. I was also involved in maintenance activities in running effluent treatment plant.

3. Installation of instruments and following up with timely erection activities.

4. The widespread plant included Membrane Bio Reactor (MBR) Plant, and Reverse

Osmosis (RO plant), that had all processes completely automated and monitored through

SCADA/HMI.
