OBJECTIVE:

Seeking for a challenging position in a dental setting, where I can utilize my dental experience and knowledge to provide outstanding care to patients and quality assistance to the doctor; be a hard working team member thereby contributing to the successful growth of the practice.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES:

? Completed my Bachelors in Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in February 2009 from

Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India.

Total work experience: 2 years

? Worked as Dental Intern for 1 year (February 2009-2010) in

Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals, India where I gained experience to greet, attend, diagnose and treat patients with all types of oral health issues. I have done multiple extractions, restorations-amalgam and composite, bleaching procedures with and without rubber dam, root canal treatment, fabrication and placement of removable partial and complete dentures, orthodontic appliances and gained expertise in every department.

? Worked part-time along with a dentist (Dr.Narasimha Bharatwaj, MDS, India) for 7 months (June 2009 -December 2009) where I not only worked as a dental hygienist but also got excellent training and experience in four handed dental assistance in major and minor oral surgeries performed by my dentist as well. I did also get the exposure to use invisalign for my patients during this period.

? Worked as an associate dentist along with an endodontist Dr.Arun Suraj,MDS, India for 1 year (December 2009-dec 2010) where I took the responsibility of treating patients with oral health issues, acting in the role of a patient coordinator and managing the front office as well successfully.

I am on permanent resident status and can work for any employer without any sponsorship in the future.

I have 2 years of experience in performing various dental procedures successfully as an associate dentist, treating my patients with all the attention and care they need.

Skills as a Dental Assistant:

? I have an expert understanding of the needs of dentist during any dental procedure and have successfully worked in collaboration with the doctor in providing all kinds of chair side assistance from sterilizing and placing all instruments necessary before-hand to mixing and taking impressions as and when required.

? I have more than one year experience in providing skillful assistance to my dentists in four handed dentistry involving all minor and major dental surgeries done under local and general anesthesia, which included deep sub-gingival scaling, multiple restorations and impactions in kids and adults, implant placements,periodontic surgeries like bone grafting, gingival de-pigmentation and flap surgery for treatment of periodontal pockets.

? I have proved myself highly capable of managing duties including, but not limited to-

? Performing patient oral evaluations

? Take, develop and mount accurate high quality x-rays

? Discuss treatment plan with patients in a simple, pleasant and understandable manner as and when required

? Instruct patients on post-operative and general oral health care

? Meeting/greeting and receiving patients in a friendly manner by phone/in person so as to make a great first impression of the dental practice I work in.

? Calmly and efficiently guide patients by phone through a dental emergency

? Verify patient?s health history-basic health review, medications taken, understanding their impact with the dental procedures ?and document appropriately in patient?s chart for the future reference by the doctor

? Relieving anxiety of patients by discussing and addressing their queries about dental treatments and options in a knowledgeable manner

? Co-ordinate patient scheduling and flow; call and confirm or follow and track appointments

? Smoothly and efficiently run duties like scheduling appointments, keeping record of treatments and follow-up appointments, sending bills and helping guide patients with their insurance and payment options

Lab experience:

Ability to perform various dental laboratory tasks including but not limited to-

? Sterilize and disinfect instruments.

? Mixing for taking impressions and pouring moulds.

? Making temporary crowns, inlays and onlays.

? Fabrication of removable partial and complete dentures.

? Fabrication of orthodontic appliances such as Hawleys, long and short labial bows.

X-rays:

Have experience in taking digital x-rays, intra-oral, bite wing and occlusal radiographs.
