JOB DESCRIPTION

I am glad to introduce myself Mr. Abraham. P. Samuel as a staff nurse in

ICCU & CATHLAB in Laksmi Hospital Palakkad, Kerala.

Here we are doing all non-invasive and invasive procedure.

Invasive procedures like,

. Coronary Angiogram

. Cerebral Angiogram

. Peripheral Angiogram

. Percutaneous trans-luminal Coronary Angio Plasty

. Percutanious Trans venous Mitral Commissurotomy

. Temporary Pacemaker Implantation and Permanent Pacemaker Implantation

. Atrial Septal defect closure, ventricular Septal Defect closure and

Patent Ductus Arteriosis Coil & Device Closure

In all the above said procedures, I am individually assisting the Doctors

and our daily works are,

. Routine inventory checking

. Medicine checking and keeping whole drugs and equipment ready for the

procedure and maintaining the procedure sterility.

OBSERVATION

As soon as we receive the patients we will check,

* Part preparation of the patient

* Consent

* Bill receipts

* I.V cannula insertion

* Explain the procedure to patient

Hand Washing

* Aseptic technique is used for hand scrubbing

* Preparation of the trolley

* Cleaning the site for procedure

* Sterile drapes

* Assisting the doctor through out the procedure

* Observation of the patients vital signs (temperature, pressure, heart

rate, respiration and E.C.G. etc

* After the procedure shifting the patient with proper instruction by

the Doctors to the CCU

* Removal of the sheath

* Maintaining the cath register of patients (cath notes).
