1991 Graduated with honors from Colonial High School in
Orlando, Florida.
EXPERIENCE: 2002-Present Employed by Beacon Health Alliance-Internal
Medicine East as a Certified Medical Assistant.
Responsibilities include triaging patient phone calls,
rooming patients, patient care, taking vital signs such as
blood pressure, height, weight, temperature, and
respirations; drawing blood as needed, giving injections
such as B-12, Depo-Medrol, Rocephin, etc., testing such as
prothrombin time, glucose, pregnancy, flu, strep, EKG's,
stocking patient rooms, coordinating the on-going patient
flow through the clinic process ensuring efficient and
effective continuity, accurate completion of all required
forms, greeting patients; clerical duties have included
verifying demographics and insurance information, and
coordinating physician releases. Other responsibilities
include collecting co-payments and or outstanding balances,
and informing patients of financial assistance
opportunities; following clinic procedure/protocol for the
organization and maintenance of the patients demographics
in the computer and maintaining the order of all medical
records. Responsible for the development, initiation,
tracking, and completion of a charge ticket by collecting
and recording pertinent and accurate demographic
information, and coordinating patient and non patient
inquiries and requests. Working collaboratively as a team
and supporting efforts of team members, demonstrates
exceptional customer service and interacts effectively with
physicians, patients, residents, visitors, and staff.
Preparing daily bank deposit and reconciliation, printing
dictation, greeting patients with a smile, and assisting
the practice manager whenever needed.
2000-2001 Employed by Cigna as a benefits analyst. Duties included
data entry, researching insurance claim discrepancies and
making recommendations for resolutions, drafting
correspondence to employees, retirees, providers, and
carriers for the claims process, and claims processing.
1999-2000 Employed by Omni Eye Services as a receptionist.
Duties included answering phones, filing, faxing, copying,
data entry, checking patients in/out, greeting patients,
obtaining necessary referrals for visits, verifying
insurance and or authorization for emergency treatment,
scheduling/verifying/cancelling appointments.
QUALIFICATIONS: Current CCMA certification. Current BLS certification
September 2010. Typing speed of 45-55 words per minute,
ten key by touch, Microsoft XP, Microsoft Word, some Excel,
IDX, phone etiquette, time management skills,
prioritization skills, can operate various office equipment
such as copier, fax, and telephone, am reliable and
dependable, willing to learn and ability to learn quickly,
friendly. If given the chance, I feel I can excel and do
the job to your satisfaction. I feel my experience will
complement your needs.
