As the Project Manager and IT Specialist for New Wave

AUDIO and VIDEO TECHNICAL ENGINEER for Conference and Exhibitions
As the first Audio Visual Technical Engineer of the only activist college
in the U.S. serving the needs of the labor movement, I effectively helped
host union leader events at its state-of-the-arts facilities, performing
the following responsibilities:
. Ensured quality control in the supervision, maintenance and repair
of all audio and visual equipment, keeping up with the latest
trends and technologies for better, safer, and more cost-effective
ways to assist clients and the NLC.
. Organized service calls with Nelson White Systems (system builder),
Lutron System (lighting installer) and Sun Control System (prop
installer), and completed all Video Tele Conference organizing with
WireOne (far end user) and the client.
. Completed three bid processes on all orders, managing the purchases
of supplies as needed, while ensuring optimum efficiency of
equipment.
. Managed all set-ups and breakdowns of equipment and props on a
daily and/or weekly basis, liaising with NLC employees, including
building engineers, housekeeping and food service staff when client
needs demanded.
. Supported sales endeavors by working with clients, trouble-shooting
technical issues and advising them on their conference program and
special project requirements.
. Provided conference management services, planning business
tradeshow exhibits by creating diagrams of room set-ups and layouts
of all audio/visual technology used for functions.
. Worked as staff photographer, shooting and processing group, VIP
and special guest photos, as well as candid campus shots for
individual distribution and print publications, such as monthly
newsletter.
. Interfaced with clients on budget and timeline capabilities,
supplying all equipment and props for videotaping conferences,
class sessions, graduations, memorials, concerts, weddings,
entertainment, and major media events, such as IVAW hearings, ALF-
