Aircraft Mechanic I

Strip old paint, sand and smooth surfaces of aircraft sheet metal using liquid paint remover

and/or prescribed scraping or sanding tools.

Roughen aluminum surfaces to insure paint adhesion to the surface.

Prepare aircraft skin for prime and paint requiring mil specs, paint mixing, seam sealing,

masking prep for overall prime and basecoat.

Coat metal surfaces of aircraft with epoxy and polyurethane primer, or other material, using

brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other devices before applying the final paint color coat.

Perform appropriate stenciled masking to paint military logo and insignia, letters or

numerals on the aircraft surface.

Touch up, spot repairs and blending, comply with all safety and environmental regulations,

and document work completion.
