time organization and allocation for multiple projects
EDUCATION
8/2012-5/2014 Applied Statistics (M.S), Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY
GPA: 3.78/4.0
9/2008-7/2012 Statistics (B.S), North China University of Technology,
Beijing China
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Programming: SQL Server, R, SAS, Python, Java
Software: SPSS, Minitab, Rapidminer, Weka, MS Access, MS Visio, MS Office
Certification: SAS Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9
CONSULTING EXPERIENCE
3/13-4/13 Campus Statistical Analyst
. Interacted with students, faculties to gather questions to provide
better and more reasonable statistical methods for their data and
researches
. Analyzed clients' data by using R, SAS and SPSS based on clients'
requirements
. For clients came with questions about method application or data
output, offered them reasonable solutions and kept in touch for
further analyzed
PROJECTS
3/14-5/14 Regression Analysis
. Processed data from General Social Survey(1989-2013) to build
project dataset and analyzed how work conflict and family
characters effect person's job satisfaction
. Applied methods like mean or mode substitution to deal with
missing data and built linear regression model to discover the
relationship between job satisfaction and target factors
. In order to explore how family condition moderate the relationship
between family-to-work conflict and job satisfaction, interaction
terms were included linear regression model
. Used ordinal logistic regression analysis to find out the model
for further prediction about job satisfaction based on current
factors
. Compared parameters among models and evaluated model performances
for different purposes
. All procedures, such as data process and regression modeling, were
performed by SAS 9.3
10/13-12/13 Database Management
. Developed and implemented a complete working database to manage
job marketing
. Designed a database using SQL Server for both student and
recruiters to store and check target information
. Constructed a user-friendly interface by MS Access for database
users to insert and update the information efficiently
. Created SQL queries to achieve the searching functions in this
database so that student search target job based on location,
position name or company, and recruiters can do search based on
school, major or certain skills to discover and contact with
potential employers
3/14-5/14 Data Mining
. Applied bank-marketing dataset to predict whether a client will
subscribe a term deposit, using Rapidminer and SPSS to clean the
data
. Developed and adjusted three machine leaning methods:
classification (Decision Tree, SVM, Naive Bayes), clustering,
generating association rule by using Weka and R
. Evaluated algorithms performance and compared method accuracy
across
3/13-5-13 Time Series Analysis
. Conducted time series analysis with energy consumption and
unemployment rate monthly data from US government web site
. Discovered and removed seasonal patterns from both variables by
using SCA
. Utilized ARCH/GARCH model and drew the time series plot
. Predicted inner relationship between energy consumption and
unemployment rate using Minitab and R
