Selected Accomplishments:

Operate all Tool Room tool and die equipment, such as

manual milling machines, lathes, grinders, jig grinders,

wire EDMs, CNC mills, CNC lathes, profile grinders, drill

presses, OD ID grinders, cylindrical grinders, welders and

other machines as needed to get the job done

Use various measuring equipment, such as micrometers,

calipers, gage blocks, optical comparators, coordinate

measuring machines (CMM), etc.

Build, maintain, change over, trouble shoot, and setup

dies. Types being single-out and multi-out progressive

dies, compound dies, transfer dies and deep draw dies.

Stamping and forming operations using tin plated, cold

rolled, galvanized, stainless spring steel, brass, and

copper.

Mold work related to aluminum die casting.

Leadership role as "Tool Room Supervisory Assistant" for 9

years for crew of 12 Tool and Die Journeymen.

Responsibilities included performance reviews;

discipline/development actions; planning directing,

scheduling, and coaching work; training; problem solving

personnel issues; approving hours; ordering supplies;

budget accountability; providing input on ratings; and

materials and tooling inventory control.

High performance work on projects and programs without

supervision.

Responsible for repair and maintenance of all tooling, dies

fixtures and equipment.

Mentored, trained, coached and assisted other Apprentice

and Journeymen toolmakers or machinists in the performance

of their work to ensure safe, timely and cost effective

completion of projects.

Utilized various trouble shooting techniques to determine

corrective actions required to increase uptime and

equipment utilization.

Skilled at implementing safe work practices to safely and

correctly setup and properly operate presses and equipment

that dies are run in.

Ability to heat treat various types of materials in a way

effectively harden material tooling.

Skilled in designing jigs and fixtures, compound and

progressive dies.

recommendations and mentoring to improve performance of

dies or processes. Recognized as being highly skilled in

this area.

Proficient in the operation of all Tool Room equipment and

capable of maintaining a tolerance of +/-0.0002 to +/-0

.0003 inches.

Understand the importance of accurate and timely

documentation of all changes and communicating them to

supervision and/or engineering departments. Have helped

developed improvements in this process - such as when there

were tooling design changes to reduce scrap.
