accomplishments in following areas:
Budgeting
. Compiled and closely monitored annual budgets averaging $15 million (13 periods), consisting of
65 line items for salaries and expenses. Consistently controlled excessive costs and produced actual
results well under planned amounts in most categories.
. Negotiated rates for transfers to all A&P terminals in most efficient manner to benefit Penske
Logistics. Rarely exceeded rates, thereby contributing to profitability.
Operations Management
. Conferred daily with A&P management to ensure that daily scheduled deliveries of meat and
produce are made to 125 supermarkets in their chain, which include A&P, Shopwell, Superfresh,
and Waldbaum's stores throughout the region.

. Improved drivers' productivity by holding them accountable for staying within time limits for
unloading at each stop, as reported by on-board computers. Investigated and resolved causes of
delays to avoid repeat occurrences.
. Established a vehicle preventive maintenance program that greatly reduced truck breakdowns
impacting scheduled deliveries.
. Generated substantial savings through backhaul assignments for drivers to pick up products at
nearest vendor whenever possible, rather than returning with empty trucks.
. Kept updated computerized personnel records, which include schedules for physical exams, drivers'
license expiration dates, or any noncompliance issues requiring corrective action.
Safety
. Instituted a program to eliminate drivers' violations to OSHA rule that allowed no more than 10
hours of operations per day. As a result, brought rate of violations down from 25% to near zero,
while drastically cutting overtime costs without compromising service quality.
. Under a gain sharing plan agreed to by A&P management that encourages cost-effective deliveries,
saved $600,000 in budgeted expenses of which $300,000 was reimbursed by the customer in 2002.
. Since elimination of corporate workmen's compensation department and installation of GE Power
Suite program for accident analysis, performed comprehensive process to determine root causes of
accidents and injuries, which has reduced chargeable moving accidents by half.
. Reduced work-related injuries by two-thirds over prior year through improved safety training,
correction of reported deficiencies at terminal and customers' premises, and administration of
physical capability test to new hires for positions requiring heavy lifting.
