EDUCATION AND PRACTICE

• 1st class Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from VLB Janakiammal College of Engineering and Technology (Affiliated to ANNA University – Chennai, India), Year of passing: 2005.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Project – Magnida Fertilizers Facility, American Falls, Idaho (Proposal)

EPC Contractor - ThyssenKrupp Uhde as an engineering and procurement contract for the construction of one of the world’s largest single-train liquid fertilizer plants to be built in the United States of America.

• Preparation of material requisition, mechanical datasheet, TBE for emergency diesel generator package (2500KW, Non road diesel engine driven in compliance with Code of Federal Regulations and IEEE 446)

• Reviewing bids of VS1 type 2500HP rated cooling water pumps in compliance with API 610 and firewater pump package (NFPA 20 accordance) and resolving technical queries.

• Preparation of material requisition, mechanical datasheet, technical bid evaluation (TBE) for glycol system which includes glycol heater (API 12K Natural Gas fired heaters - 9.35 MMBTU/Hr), centrifugal pumps, drains drum, filters and expansion tank.

Project – La Paloma Energy Center Combined Cycle Power Project, Harlingen County, Texas (EPC)

• Responsible for basic and detailed engineering of natural gas system which includes rotary-type positive displacement gas compressor (1700 HP) in compliance with API 619, GE 7FA.05 frame Combustion Gas Turbine Package with rating 211MW, natural gas conditioning unit, etc.

• Development of P&ID, Pressure drop calculation and line sizing for Gas Turbine natural gas system, Gas Turbine customer connection/interface list.

• Preparation of material requisitions and data sheets for natural gas conditioning unit (natural gas filter separator, performance heater, fuel gas scrubber and drain tank)

• Natural gas / gas fuel supply over-pressure protection design in comply with ASME 31.1 Sec 6, 122.8.1 to meet Gas Turbine interface pressure requirement.

• Providing over-pressure protection control valves inputs to control system discipline.

• Review of vendor drawings for Gas Turbine and natural gas system equipment. Reviewing natural gas system simulation study.

Project – Erbil Combined Cycle Power Project, Arbeel (EPC)

• Engineering coordination and interface engineering for Steam Turbine Package (STG) in compliance with API 611 and its lubrication, shaft-sealing and control-oil system in compliance with API 614.

• Review of vendor drawings for Steam Turbine and data documentation for compliance with project specification requirements

• Review and closeout of client comments

Project - Solar Thermal Power Plant System (STPPS), California, United States (FEED)

• Preparation of material requisition, mechanical datasheet, technical bid evaluation (TBE) for plant air system equipment and general purpose pumps

• Responsible for basic and detailed engineering of Compressed air system which includes rotary compressor in compliance with API 619, air receiver and dryer in compliance with client scope requirement.

• Coordination with other technical disciplines on projects for development in detail engineering.

Dec 2010 - May 2012 Adani Power Ltd., India

Project - Adani Power Ltd, 5 x 660 MW Pulverized Coal fired Supercritical Thermal Power Plant, Mundra, Gujarat, India (Owner Engineer)

• Engineering coordination and interface engineering for Steam Turbine Package (STG) in compliance with API 611 and its lubrication, shaft-sealing and control-oil system in compliance with API 614.

• Responsible for detailed engineering of circulating/condenser cooling water system and seawater water intake system.

• Review of P&ID, system sizing calculation, design criteria document, technical specification and co-ordination with various discipline and vendors.

• Packages handled are steam turbine & its auxiliaries, lube-oil pumps, 4.8MW rated vertical turbine pumps, vacuum pumps (water ring type pumps) and boiler feed water pumps (horizontal multistage, between-bearings pumps).

• Coordination with contractors, consultant and other technical disciplines on projects for updates in detail engineering including constructability requirements.
