Master thesis

Title Real-time Facial animation with Realistic Skin and Hair

Supervisors Prof. Leif Kobbelt, Dominik Sibbing

Description Realistic skin and hair were attached to face models animated in real-time. In

addition, a naive eye model was also implemented. C++, OpenGL, GLSL and Qt

were the technologies used for implementation.

June 2014 The aim was to improve my master thesis. The goal was to obtain a more realistic face

using a better eye model, hair model and skin tone.

Jan 2012 - Student research assistant(Hiwi), LTT, RWTH, Aachen.

Feb 2014 Tasks mainly involved running commands on a large set of input files and extracting the

results according to a few specifications. It also involved plotting the results using gnuplot.

Scripts were written in python to achieve these.

Sept 2012 - Praktikum, RWTH, Aachen.

Feb 2013 A game was developed in OpenGL as part of the game programming lab(team work). The

user had to fly an aircraft through a tube of obstacles. I mainly worked on physics, controls,

particle system(aircraft exhaust, collision effects) and audio. The technologies used include

OpenGL, GLSL, C++, Qt and bullet physics engine.

Dec 2012 - Tank Explosion, Game Programming Course project.

Feb 2013 A small OpenGL application was created which animated explosion on land when a tank

shot (team work). I worked on controls that moved the tank and on explosion effects. The

technologies used include OpenGL, GLSL, C++, Qt and bullet physics engine.

April 2011 - Optical Tracking, Bachelor thesis.

Aug 2011 A graphics application was developed to track user position and update the view based on

this position. Updating the view would rotate the object before projecting it onto the screen

and this would give users a feel of viewing in real world. The DTrack system was used as a

tracking aid.
