ACADEMIC Project:

Project Title: Design of set point weighting controller for a Non

Linear process

(SPHERICAL TANK)

Description:

V To implement controllers based on soft computing techniques in

simulation for non-linear process.

V The process taken up for study is to control the level in a

spherical setup using cost effective data acquisition system.

V The system identification of this nonlinear process is done using

black box modeling and found to be First Order Plus Dead Time

(FOPDT) model.

V Then the controller tuning strategies applied are Zeigler Nicholas

PID tuning method and cohen coon tuning.

V The soft computing method like set point weighting controller has

been implemented and compared with conventional PID tuning method;

From the results based on performance indices like Integral

Absolute Error(IAE) and Integral Sequared Error(ISE) it is proved

that the controllers implemented using soft computing technique out

performs well than the conventional controller.
