Description:
NBS is being developed for the UK and ROI buyers to carry out their
business smoothly and NBS is an internal Tesco project that aims to
decouple few mainframe systems and instead have all the legacy system
business related data in base RETEK applications like ORMS and ORPM. The
project involves developing a lot of new functionality on top of the
base(Vanilla) ORMS,ORPM,ORIB packages to enable the client to set up Tesco
specific item structures, supply chain attributes, Deals, Price Changes,
Promotion and clearances, synchronize the UK and ROI business into one
instance of ORMS. The same is achieved through interface designs that pull
in data to the RETEK applications from ODS which had data synchronized with
mainframe systems. We also aim to test all the functional aspects of ORMS
and ORPM that included product life cycle, promotions, deals and supplier
information amongst other business areas. This is an end to end integration
testing effort to prove the business runs as per requirements and we have a
sync of data with the legacy systems as well. Applications like BizTalk
server and Abinitio along with RIB, See beyond help us achieve the
integration of data.
