Career Progression

2009 to Present – Eagle Rapids Asset Management LLC – Founder & President

• I formed this company to provide consulting services to investors, established, and start up companies. The

Company’s core competencies reside in strategic planning, market analysis, term sheet negotiation, capital

deployment, financial projections, IP commercialization strategies, corporate and business segment valuations,

business plan evaluation, exit strategies, and due diligence activities. Successfully raised over $2.75 MM in

seed/early stage capital for three different start up companies.

• ERAM was engaged as a consultant to build out a single family rental cash flow securitization platform.

Consulting engagement involved selection and contract negotiation of a major Wall Street debt underwriter,

development of presentations to potential investors, business plan creation, and design of initial $300 MM

structured debt offering plus a pipeline of future offerings. ERAM was also able to secure a major hedge fund as

a lead investor for the company prior to the contract engagement ending.

• Eagle Rapids Asset Management, LLC (“ERAM”) has provided consulting services to both startups and

established companies. Strategy development included detailed SWOT analysis, identification of strategic

objectives, build out of overall and segment business growth plans, development of market penetration

strategies, and commercialization plans for intellectual property (trade secrets and patented technology). Result

highlights include clients’ raising capital based on the developed plans, increased sales of nascent products by

nearly 325% y o y, reduction of operational costs by 40%, and providing operational focus that allowed a startup

to gain traction paving the way for a successful product launch.

• ERAM has also provided expert witness consulting services for two cases involving structured products (MBS &

CDO). ERAM was able to provide expertise related to the exotic securities that were the focus of the litigation

resulting in favorable settlement.

• Eagle Rapids Asset Management, LLC currently provides contract CEO/CFO services to two startup companies

which include capital raising, financial analysis, business plan creation, capital deployment planning, corporate

controls, accounting oversight, IT infrastructure management, investor communications, and strategic planning.

2003 to Aug 2009 – Shay Assets Management, Inc. – VP & Senior Portfolio Manager

• Responsible for management of total return institutional mutual funds and discretionary separate account

mandates. Additional responsibilities included oversight of third party providers of accounting, shareholder

services, and investment compliance. Direct duties included price valuation of all fixed income positions

following prospectus, FASB, and Investment Company Act of 1940 pricing guidelines. Managed the team of

portfolio managers, portfolio assistants, and shareholder services representatives.

• Responsible for creation of investor communications and shareholder performance reporting. Primary

responsibilities also included writing quarterly investment commentary, white papers related to strategy and

market themes. Majority of fund shareholders were sophisticated institutional investors, content was targeted

accordingly.

• Responsible for selection and implementation of fixed income analytics system, tuning prepayment and loss

models, design and maintenance of internal company databases as well as providing performance attribution

data compliant with GIPS reporting requirements. New systems increased portfolio management, reporting, and

client presentation efficiencies.

• Significant business development activities with investors and prospects throughout the capital accumulation

cycle. Sourcing primary prospects and providing sales support to internal and wholesale sales force by creating

marketing and performance exhibits for clients/distribution channels. Part of the team that grew assets under

management from $2.0 billion to nearly $6.5 billion. Also responsible for engaging and communicating fund

strategy and value proposition to financial advisors and third party asset gathering channels. Given the firm’s

client base, direct client support focus was on OCC, OTS, NCUA, NAIC regulations and guidance related to

FASB/OTTI impairment issues.

2000 to 2003 – Shay Financial Services, Inc. – Portfolio Strategies Group – Senior Analyst

• PSG serves as an internal fixed income consultant to provide transaction engineering and securities expertise to

account executives and clients of the firm. PSG also served as the manager for all IT assets of the firm.

• Responsible for design and development of custom software applications and databases for the firm.

• Designed and coded a proprietary application to create the analytics of leveraged transactions for financial

institutions in order to optimize their balance sheets and deploy idle capital. Trades executed using this

application increased trading revenue from $7 million to $15 million during 2001 2002.

• Worked with Chief Balance Sheet Strategist to design client specific capital deployment strategies consistent

with existing accounting standards and operating regulatory environment. Also provided portfolio and liability

analysis through consulting engagements with clients. Responsible for specific trade write ups, fixed income

market commentary, and investment white papers for institutional investor audience.

• Designed, deployed, and maintained Citrix Metaframe Server farm to provide satellite office locations with

standardized custom and third party software applications, deliver seamless mobile/remote access for

employees, and more efficiently maintain the firm’s IT assets. This implementation reduced telecommunications

and IT costs by almost 60% and allowed account executives access to client data and trading records virtually

anywhere in the world.

1998 to 2000 – Shay Financial Services, Inc. – Account Executive

• Created Public Institutions Division for Shay Financial Services to provide investment counsel and transaction

execution to state and local government finance directors. Provided advice related to portfolio management,

investment analysis, asset/liability services, and assisted outside auditors with GASB 31 reporting requirements.

Prior to my employment, the firm’s clients were concentrated in the banking industry. This position required

entrepreneurship vision and managing multiple complex tasks to develop this new business line.

structured mortgage related assets, agency debentures, and corporate bond investment counsel and transaction

execution to banks, credit unions, and insurance companies.
