• Non- profit organization that serves over 33,000 adults and children by educating and

providing vision screenings to those in need out in the community.

I excelled at my position within weeks of starting; I took on a major responsibility and was offered a full-time

position. I trained other employees on equipment and developed permanent training materials. I supervised

their progress and evaluated their performance. I worked with many important people and was trusted to

communicate effectively and thoroughly regarding their services to our non-profit. I coordinated and planned

clinic events 6 months to a year in advance and met all goals.

Duties included but not limited to:

• Daily use of Excel, Outlook, Word, data entry, and the Titmus & Tonometer (used for

vision).

• Multi-line communication.

• Fax, copy, print, and scan capabilities.

• Created policies and procedures for the Adult Vision Program as well as training material

• Logged hundreds of clients in our custom database.

• Working directly with individuals out in the community to provide free vision screenings as

well as education on eye health.

• Helped organize, manage and develop “free clinics” in Jacksonville in order to provide

those screened with free eye exams.

• Communicate and worked directly with doctors and technicians in the vision field.

• Screened a high volume of clients weekly and entering them in the database within

24hours.

• Worked and reported to the Executive Director as well as our team of employees.

• Communicated with clients to ensure they received individual attention.

• Attended corporate health fairs that involved educating the community in our mission.

• Upon resigning- duties included training one and hiring another individual for replacement.

• Staying up to date and entering interviews in the CAC database.

• Working on and researching various projects- which includes reporting

new research/data and writing formal research papers to be reviewed by

my superior.

• Communicating with the Forensic Interviewer for any upcoming projects

or tasks.

• Accompanying and observing the Forensic Interviewer when called to

testify in court.

• Assisting the Agency with community education projects.

• Project: Organizing an event for Child Abuse Awareness Month.

o Reaching out to individuals as well as organizations with Texas

Christian University for support and/or donations.

o Coordinating the event space and the team of people needed to

ensure a successful campaign.

o This event is one of the largest Child Abuse Awareness Campaigns

in Tarrant County.

o A display of 5,088 pinwheels to represent the number of confirmed

victims in Tarrant County for 2011.

• Shadowing other members of Alliance For Children to observe their role

in the agency.

• Sitting in on Child Protective Services (CPS) interviews with families.

• Providing support for the Forensic Interviewer, CPS worker, and Law

Enforcement.

The pinwheel project that I launched in 2011 is now a project carried out year after year to

recognize our child victims of abuse.

Research Projects and Relative Experience; 2006 to 2010:

• TCU Frog Kids. Mentoring children from a local middle school for

approximately four months who needed counseling and support regarding

her parent’s recent divorce. Focused on providing support, counseling, and

positive reinforcement.

• Integra-Care Hospice. Volunteered to work at the hospice for

approximately four months to provide counseling and support to

terminally ill patients and their families. The use of interpersonal skills

and acquired knowledge to improve the attitude and outlook for both

patients and family members.

• Sex Offender Therapy. Researched the effect of the national sex offender

registry on sex offenders and their families and participation in a sex

offender group therapy program.

• Mimi’s House Daycare, Fort Worth, Texas. Responsible for a class of ten

to twenty children up to the age of four years old. Basic language and

interaction activities were created and provided reports and feedback

directly to their parents.

Personal Interest: I am relationship oriented so I enjoy spending as much time with family and friends as

possible. I often volunteer to care for children or work with organizations offering childcare and counseling

because I enjoy being a positive influence on the children. I recently graduated with a certificate for teaching

from The Institute of Analytic Interviewing. I am focused on helping implement these techniques with an

agency to broaden the scope of interviewing and focus on justice with the truth.
