CONFIGURATION AND CODING SPECIALIST, JULY 2007-PRESENT

While working with Adian Inc., I provided expertise for various contracts

in building crosswalks among standard terminologies. Among the many tasks,

I was responsible for assigning the appropriate ICD-9-CM diagnosis, CPT

codes, and ICD-10 if applicable. Specific experience and expertise was

demonstrated in normalizing, mapping, resolving conflicts, and managing

updates and domain modeling. Monitored the development and instructional

design of training material and programs; reviewed implementation

activities and tasks in accordance with Standard Implementation

Methodology. In addition, assisted with implementation training to provide

hospital personnel with preliminary knowledge and skills required to

utilize EHR systems; including multiple clinical workflows, best practices,

improved system/process performance, and clinical adoption.

Collaborated with Adian Inc., to complete mapping for Elsevier Merged

Medical Taxonomy (EMMeT). Also, supported select clinical vocabularies,

terminologies, and coding systems such as UMLS, SNOMED-CT, ICD-9, ICD-10,

CPT, and LOINC for national hospitals.

May 2011- June 2012 Clinical Coding Analyst (Contractor)

Worked with Shared Health Systems to maintain and assign administrative

codes (CPT, CPT-II, and ICD-9/10) and clinical terminologies (SNOMED CT,

LOINC, RxNorm, etc.) with a special emphasis on currently used medication

codes (NDC, NCPDP, etc), to facilitate an ongoing execution of sensitive

code review procedures and sensitive code identification. Further, ensured

all work was validated using the Health Information Exchange to ensure

hospital interoperability.

June 2009-May 2011 Configuration & Implementation

(Contractor)

While contracting to work on system configuration, emphasis was placed

on maintaining inpatient hospital procedures and policy. Assisted in

reconciling NDC codes order to ensure proper billing. This was done to

minimize duplicate orders and errors. Also, worked to build and test

multiple drug formularies, and order sets used in various hospital

departments. Maintained a consistent understanding of software products

and functionality in order to assist end users

August 2007-April 2009 Configuration Specialist (Contractor)

Worked to develop or maintain CPT and related products as necessary. In

addition to knowledge acquired regarding ICD-9 while on this project,

also played a key role in informing project manager of potential gaps

that would affect project plans and deadlines. Facilitated

communication between implementation and coding team to Project Manager

to ensure deliverables were met.
