SUMMARY

Ajay is an experienced Mainframe Technical Consultant-cum-Developer with

various industry experience in IT/ITES areas. He is expert in Migration

jobs, mainly from Legacy platforms to UNIX with Java. He has a good and

long working experience in Domestic and International IT sector on various

1. LAST ENGAGEMENT (15th April 2013 To 15th April 2014) :

Few days back Ajay was working for Interra IT Pvt. Ltd. at Kolkata as

Developer-cum-Tester. He was looking after development, enhancement and

testing activities on the IBM mainframe projects on day to day basis.

These were enhancement and migration projects with skill areas like

COBOL, CICS, CSP, DB2, VSAM and JCL. The client is in automobile sector

in USA, Canada & Mexico. He was engaged in the following three projects:

(a) Transportation Claim of Cars & Spare Parts; Development project with

COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM for Services Department

(b) Migration of CSP source code to Java & batch COBOL (COBOL stored

procedure under DB2) for vehicle system. The client had on-line Screens

and Programs in CSP.

(c) Enhancement & development project for Parts Division using COBOL,

CICS, DB2, and VSAM

a) In Transportation Claims System, Ajay had developed five programs in

batch COBOL. At the backend the Relation Database was DB2. It was

about a month's project.

b) Migration Project:

After the above project Ajay was engaged in a Migration project. The CSP

source code was converted to Java for the front-end part and to Stored

Procedure in COBOL for the Validation and Business Rules and at the

backend, database was DB2. This was for a new unit in Mexico for Vehicle

Division. All the front-end screens have been developed in Java (from CSP

code of IBM) with some additional features at the frond-end side, as well

as, Stored Procedures have been developed in IBM VS II COBOL. Most of the

Business Rules have been kept in Stored Procedure. The Stored Procedures

were accessing the DB2 Tables. It was about two and half-a-months'

project.

(c) At last Ajay was engaged in a development and enhancement project for

the Parts Division, called 4M Project for Mexico Unit. The environment

was IBM M/F with COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM and JCL. He was doing development

work, writing source codes in COBOL & CICS, handling DB2 tables and

performing testing individually. This was a three months' project and was

over in October 2013.

Earlier Engagement with InterraIT: Period (1st Dec. 2010 to 28th Dec.

2011):

Previously, in the year 2010 - 2012 he was working in a maintenance

project. He was doing development, enhancement and testing work on IBM

mainframe based maintenance project with skill areas like COBOL, CICS,

DB2, IMS/DB, VSAM and JCL. The client was Master Brand Cabinet Inc.

(MBCI), based in USA and in Manufacturing vertical.

Ajay was doing development and enhancement activities, based on Tickets

and Project given by the client in a stipulated time limit. The programs

were based on COBOL, CICS under IMS/DB database and VSAM files. He was

also writing or modifying JCL as and when required. The client computer

was connected through VPN and accessing using CISCO software.

2. PREVIOUS ENGAGEMENT on Finance Software (Jan. 2012 To March 2013):

Ajay was attached with OSSNA Inc., USA till March 2013. He was providing

maintenance support from India for improvement to Episys Banking Package

of SYMITAR, a division of Jack Henry & Associates. This software is used

in CREDIT UNIONS in USA. The package has been developed using POWERON

language, a collaborative environment for its Episys credit union clients

to exchange programming solutions that improve efficiency and

performance. . It is a very good & rich high-level language, mainly for

Finance Industry.

Episys is a client-centric system effectively supporting diverse credit

unions by integrating customizable core functionality with more than 50

complementary products and services. This best-of-suite product approach

empowers credit unions with integrated access to state-of-the-industry

business intelligence and profitability, retail delivery, electronic

funds transfer, Internet banking, risk management and security, and item

and document imaging solutions.

Episys is an Internet-integrated solution that deploys browser-based

technology, "drag and drop" transaction functionality, user-friendly

toolbars, HTML, Dialog Box, JavaScript, Graphics, Chart and wizard-based

assistance.

Symitar for years has enabled credit unions to customize Episys with

PowerOn, a customization tool that incorporates an advanced scripting

language and an intuitive interface that IT staff can use to develop

custom applications independent of the core code. Its new PowerOn

Marketplace now provides a centralized community resource, supported by

Symitar, for users to share, review, and adopts ideas and custom

programming solutions. It is open to all Episys users that currently

range from $10 million to $10 billion in assets.

PREVIOUS ENGAGEMENT (18th May 2009 To 31st Oct. 2010) :

Before joining InterraIT in December, 2010, he was working for Metalogic

Systems Private Limited, Kolkata and was engaged in a Migration project

as Senior Technical Developer and was engaged in two Migration projects.

The first project was for LIC of India and the second one was for HCL

Technologies under Transport domain. The client was VOLVO, Japan.

(a) Second Migration Project:

He was engaged in a Migration project from May 2010 in Kolkata. It was a

platform migration of Hitachi mainframe to IBM mainframe for a Client in

Japan. Migration of Hitachi COBOL to IBM Z-Series COBOL, on-line programs

to CICS, Q programs to IBM Z-Series Batch COBOL and PDM database to DB2.

The target code was first generated by a Migration Tool and then the code

was manually refined (syntax checking, compilation in mainframe

environment) by us and finally we did testing in IBM Z-Series platform

(at HCL Technologies, Chennai). The project was over in six months. This

was outsourced by HCL Technologies, Chennai.

c) First Migration Project:

Previously (from May 2009 to end-April 2010) he was executing a Migration

project under Insurance domain (for LIC of India) outsourced by Wipro

Technologies at Electronics City, Bangalore. He was doing MF COBOL code

migration job and 'sql' code had been added for I-O handling (from flat

files to RDBMS) and testing. The Database was MySQL at the backend. The

Database concept added in this Migration project. All the MF COBOL

screens have been developed newly using Java Technology (jsp). So, the

old conventional system has been converted to a Web-based multi-tier

system for LIC.

The system was quite huge. In the old system, there were about 7000 MF

Cobol source code, 3500 flat files and reports and about 23,000 Cobol

Copybooks, Flat-files layouts etc. Most of the flat files have been

converted to RDBMS tables using MySQL software. In future, these tables

would be changed to Oracle.

The project was completed in twelve months. It was a 'Great Challenging

Job' for us. The job was assigned to Wipro by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan

Singh in 2008-2009.

3. PREVIOUS ENGAGEMENT (11th Feb. 2008 To 30th April 2009):

Before joing Metalogic Systems in May 2009, Ajay was working for Tata

Consultancy Services Limited, Kolkata as Senior Technical Consultant on

ICL Mainframe platform.

He was working for Corus Steel, UK for their Application Development and

Maintenance Project at Kolkata based off-shore centre. Corus was using

ICL Fujitsu Computers and Open VME Operating System at their Long Steel

Manufacturing Units in Rothereham, South Yorkshire. The applications were

based on COBOL, Application Manager, TPS (online system from Gresham,

UK), QuickBuild (Application Master, Program Master, Report Master, Query

Master and DDS systems) and SCL. The files were on various flat files, as

well as Database based on IDMSX. He was in UK at the beginning for

Knowledge Transfer and other on-site activities.

He had conducted various training programmes for the Team members, Team

Leads etc. At present TCS are doing Maintenance activities from Kolkata

for support and enhancement activities.

4. PREVIOUS ENGAGEMENT (11th Nov. 2006 To 10th Feb. 2008):

Before joining TCS, he was working for Globsyn Technologies Limited,

Kolkata. He was also doing development and testing work.

He was developing design documents, coding in COBOL, CICS, DB2, IMS/DB

and JCL and performing testing of commercial applications of a project

for US based client ADT Security System Inc. on IBM Z-Series through VPN

connection. GTL was maintaining their various applications based on IBM

mainframe, AS/400 etc. There were two big applications - ADMIN and CARMS.

These applications were covering Order booking, Sales, Costing,

Invoicing, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Commission calculation

etc. He did development and enhancement work on monthly basis with

milestone dates of releases. He developed and enhanced modules for

release by month end to Production environment. He was also giving on-

call support from office, as well as from residence on IBM mainframe

platform. He used to receive small technical errors & queries from

various users on batch jobs and CICS.

. Ajay was doing Design, Coding, Development, Testing of application

programs from India through VPN connection on IBM main frame platform

. He was using IMS/DB very extensively with COBOL and CICS

. Performing Compilation, Production Turnover, Compare of source and

data, sort, Merge, File & table creation and maintenance

. Also used to receive small technical errors & queries from various

users on batch jobs and CICS on-line usage areas. He is preparing

technical solutions & replies and forwarding to them

. On-call Support for 24 X 7 production support and response time is 45

minutes

. Helping other team members in Testing and Debugging.

5. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION:

a) Ajay did PG Course on 'Computer Science & Application' from Indian

Statistical Institute, Kolkata. About six month's full-time course for

Research Scholars and sponsored EDP Executives. The Computer Science

Unit of ISI was equipped with in-house mainframe computer and accessible

for students round the clock.

b) He did M. Sc. in Physics with specialization in Radio-Physics &

Electronics from Kolkata and secured first class. Secured above 75% marks

in Radio-Physics and Electronics Papers.

c) He joined as Sr. Research Fellow in the Electronics & Tele-

communications Engineering Department of Jadavpur University after Post

Graduation and worked for about 1.5 years.

d) He had attended various courses on Computer languages, DBMS, Analysis &

Design, Quality Management, Systems, Domains, Management and Leadership.
