Senior Military Instructor, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge MA 12/2012 - 08/2014

• Managed all facets of the program. Directly responsible for teaching, planning, coordinating, and managing support assets for 65

college students in the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at nine Boston area campuses including Harvard, MIT, and Tufts.

• Accepted responsibility for several critical roles within organization due to high turnover rate, ensuring all training and

administration requirements were met. Confident and proven decision maker and problem solver.

• Coordinated events with local government and military organizations including the development, planning, execution and

oversight for events.

• Adhered to stringent regulatory and administrative procedures and policies. Flawlessly implemented strict safety guidelines.

Operations Sergeant Major, NATO Training Mission - Afghanistan/Combined Security Transition Command - Afghanistan 10/2011 - 12/2012

• Supervised 5900 coalition service members and 800 contractors. With $15M annual budget, maintained 100%

accountability of $21M in capital assets for 2500 personnel located at 6 different locations.

• Applied assertive leadership and streamlined Personal Accountability Instruction of all service members and civilians

within a Division in Afghanistan, reducing the process variance from 20% to less than 2% in under 2 months which

moved the Unit from “Fail” to “Pass” and earned recognition for improved Unit performance and effectiveness.

• Managed cost reduction processes and successfully delivered full functionality of a $5M project for $387K. Substantially

reduced overhead cost, performed 34 inspections resulting in policy/procedural changes, established and maintained

contracts, and minimized budget and manpower requirements while meeting requirements and performance standards.

• Served as Primary Contract Manager for the Afghan Army Human Resources Information System. Provided oversight for a

rotations for role playing assignments designed to assist and multiply effects on the battlefield.

• Ensured the Army comprehensive risk assessment was conducted and risk mitigation procedures were implemented to

maximize the safety of assigned soldiers and civilians in support of JRTC rotational units.

• Prepared 419 role players to augment 16 village sites to maximize training effects. Provided leadership and direct

liaison for rotational Combat Sustainment Support Battalions.

• Rescued critical engineering project deemed a mission essential requirement. When private construction contract bid was

cancelled, transformed plan, mitigated risks, and successfully completed project by reutilizing assets and equipment.

Tough negotiator: 75% reduction in cost and schedule. Lauded by the Commanding General 103rd ESC for delivering a

secure “safe haven” for military assets under budget and ahead of schedule.

• Protected and controlled $1M inventory of sensitive items, vehicles, and real world graphic training aids

Area Recruiting NCOIC/Senior Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) Liaison NCO, Boston, MA 10/2008 - 11/2009
