pediatric phlebotomy

SUMMARY

I have been a certified phlebotomist for about 30 years. I worked in the

University of Kentucky Children's Hospital as a pediatric, and neonatal

phlebotomist for 15 years. I am currently certified in CPR. While working

at Central Baptist Hospital, I received the Presidential Ambassador of Care

Award.

LABORATORY EXPERIENCE

Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, KY

Admission Coordinator/phlebotomist, 2001 - 2012

I worked at Central Baptist Hospital for 10 years. I worked as an

admission coordinator/phlebotomist. I registered out patients, ordered

their test, and then I would draw their blood. I cleaned the phlebotomy

room every day, and made sure that our specimen tubes and containers had

not expired. I also made sure that the phlebotomy refrigerators and

freezer temperature logs were with in normal ranges. In March of 2007 I

was awarded the presidential ambassador of care award.

Phlebotomist/Phlebotomy Shift Supervisor, 1982 - 2000

I drew blood from in patients and out patients. I also worked In the

University Of Kentucky Children's Hospital. I became Phlebotomy Shift

Supervisor. I supervised second and first shift. I taught med tech

students, medical students, PA's, and new employees how to draw blood. I

made out weekly schedules, performed yearly evaluations, and entered

payroll in to the computer.

Lyneer staffing while working at LabCorp, Lexington, KY

I worked as a patient service tech 07/2013 - 05/2014

I worked for Lyneer, Staffing,Tthey placed me at LabCorp as a patient

Service Technician. I registered out patients and drew their blood. We

collect pre-employment drug screens. These are legal specimens and involve

chain of custody paper work. We also perform paternity testing. We

processed all of our specimens before they were sent out for testing.
