Housing Manager in charge of day-to-day operations in rental of 172 Federally-subsidized apartments for the elderly and disabled in 8 locations.
• Maintain waiting list, determine eligibility and complete all computations and forms for rent-up.
• Recertify each tenant annua1ly and perform on-site inspections for each unit yearly.
• Maintain tenant deposit and restricted checking accounts and four general operating checking accounts.
• Maintain cash receipts and disbursements journals and post to computerized general ledger; make necessary general journal adjustments, reconcile bank accounts and prepare financial statements.
• Prepare budgets for approval by management, Board of Directors, U.S.D.A. Rural Development and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
• Prepare monthly voucher requests for subsidy.
• Maintain appropriate rental statistics and information.
• Prepare financial and management reports for Board of Directors meetings; prepare and distribute minutes of meetings
• Handle tenant complaints and rules violations.
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance with contracted maintenance staff.
September, 1980- January, 1987: GRINNELL POLICE DEPARTMENT, Grinnell, Iowa Clerk/Dispatcher for ll-man police department.
• Dispatch local police units and coordinate communications for local, county, state law enforcement vehicles and fire and ambulance vehicles.
• Operate computer and teletype equipment in connection with National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System
• Take telephone complaints and determine proper routing of routine calls and requests
• Maintain and prepare statistics for monthly FBI Uniform Crime Reports
