Management of the 175,000 sq. ft. TekPark datacenter and
disaster recovery facility. Experience includes:
. Manage on site staff for facility maintenance, repair and

three cages in an 18 month period.
. Following a failure of the UPS system in one datacenter
room, successfully managed the emergency installation of a
feeder line from a UPS in another datacenter room to power
the failed infrastructure.
. Identified and managed the resolution of a critical roof
loading problem on the datacenter roof following multiple
snow storms.
. Implemented a Method of Procedure documentation process for
all facilities changes to ensure proper documentation of
tasks and impact.
. Negotiated a multi-year contract with a third party
electricity provider which saved the company $200,000 per
year in utility costs.
. Managed a project to relocate over 1,500 servers from one
datacenter room to another to allow the upgrade of UPS and
HVAC in that room.

operations, helpdesk, building facilities and Disaster
Recovery. Experience includes:
. Managed a staff of eleven computer operators and helpdesk
analysts. Maintained system and network availability 7/24
in an environment of 450+ servers. Provided 1st level
helpdesk support for customer base of 9000 employees
. Responsible for building facilities and raised floor,
including vendor and contract management
. Responsible for disaster recovery efforts for the data
center, including documentation and planning, and execution

Specific Accomplishments:
. Built up the helpdesk from an organization which took 250
calls per month to where they were taking over 3000 calls
per month. This included upgrading of the helpdesk
software and documentation.
. Built up the operational procedures, increasing first level
resolution of incidents and requests.
. Successfully lobbied the acceptance of the corporate
helpdesk software as a helpdesk solution to over 75% of the
business segments within the corporation.
. Negotiated a new contract for disaster recovery, saving the
corporation $500,000 over three years. Created recovery
documentation and plans, and participated in rehearsals.
. Identified shortfalls in UPS, Battery and Generator
maintenance, and negotiated new contracts for maintenance
and support
. Established new guidelines and processes for change
management
. Established new escalation procedures to allow more
effective communication and escalation to our business
leaders and internal support staff. This included the
evaluation and installation of a new automated alert
system.
