development, implementation and control, personnel, and project development from ground
breaking to financial success. Health facilities licenses held in Indiana and Michigan with
reciprocity compliance in most other states.
EXPERIENCE
Transitional Health Services of Fremont, Fremont, Michigan, April 2014 to October 2014.
Interim Administrator. Administrator with total oversight including Union management for 12-13
weeks awaiting the choice and arrival of a permanent administrator. Renewed contract two times.
Tendercare of Marshall, Michigan February 2013 to April 23, 2013. Interim administrator for
an eight week period awaiting the arrival of a permanent replacement. Overall responsibly for all
facets operationally on a temporary basis. Renewed contract three times
Lutheran Social Services of Michigan, Detroit, Michigan September 2013 to Present.
Retained in the position of “Contract Quality Consultant” Duties included assignments as Interim
Administrator for two LSSM sub-acute facilities or more as needed. Performed that function in
both Saginaw, Mich (98) bed and Grand Rapids (125) bed. Also served in the capacity of mentor
to long term care administrators. The purpose on a corporate basis was to improve census, quality
mix, lower AR’s, staff empowerment, higher skilled rates of reimbursement, evaluation of
rehabilitation and other duties of operations as assigned. Moved to management position with
LSSM corporate on a temporary basis.
Interim Administrator, Borgess Gardens, Borgess Hospital, Kalamazoo, Michigan. 2011-
2013. A 101 bed sub-acute facility on the campus of Borgess Health Services. Complete oversight
of all operations including three structures. The Hospital affiliate succeeded in four consecutive
surveys to obtain a significantly higher than State and National average compliance record. A
negative financial performance was reversed to a highly successful financial condition and
customer service received an excellent rating of nearly 85%. Borgess Gardens became a flagship
facility for the Ascension Health System.
Interim Administrator Metron of Big Rapids, Big Rapids, Michigan . 2010- 2011.
Performed as interim/consultant with an emphasis on public relations and financial stability.
Interim Administrator Tender care (Extendicare) Ludington, Michigan. April-July 2010.
Complete oversight of all operations
Interim Administrator Advanced Management Group, Southfield, Michigan. 2009-2010.
Performed as a consultant for six months prior to retirement.
Administrator, HCR Manor Care University of Livonia, Michigan. September 2008- April
2009. Relocated to 160 bed sub-acute in Livonia, Michigan, with the same responsibilities as
Allen Park. Allen Park was realizing total compliance and financial success in all areas and the
same results were desired at the Livonia facility.
Administrator, HCR Manor Care of Allen Park, Michigan. June 2007-September 2008.
A 180 sub-acute facility located in the Detroit, Michigan area. Allen Park became a major
contributor to HCR-Manor Care profitability. Major compliance issues resolved resulting in a top
state survey. Much emphasis placed on the completion of a new addition and upgrading of the
existing structure. Empowerment of Department Leaders to re-establish a previously enjoyed
reputation. Census maintained at a 92-98 % level with a 75% census of Medicare and Case
Managed on a constant basis. A very successful sub-acute operation that greatly exceeded all
revenue and budget expectations.
Divisional Director of Operations (Consultant position) Eby Realty Group, Olathe, Kansas.
2006-2007. Responsible for the total startup operations of five new high-end assisted living
complexes in Michigan along with administrative responsibilities of assisted living complexes in
Indiana. Total responsibility for the hiring of directors, the financial success of each complex,
marketing, census and ultimately the quality of care as well as services rendered.
Administrator, Care Centers, Evanston, Illinois. 2003-2006. Full administrative
responsibility for a 140 bed dual certified facility. The prime challenge was to increase a low
Medicare census and increase the financial stability of the facility. That goal was quickly realized
as the Medicare census was increased by nearly 300%. Other responsibilities included
management negotiations for a previously elected union.
Executive Director, Life Care Center of Rochester, Rochester, Indiana. 1999-
2003.Responsible for all facets of a total comprehensive skilled nursing facility comprised of 146
beds. Criteria included a total rehabilitation department, as well as skilled, intermediate, Medicaid
level two, an Alzheimer specialized unit, and an advanced assisted living wing. Total
responsibility for 140 employees, budget compliance, MDS submissions and all other aspects of a
certified long-term care skilled health care facility.
Regional Director Operations, State of Indiana, Heritage Property Management, Grand
Haven, Michigan. 1993-1999. Responsible for new building sites and operations of existing and
proposed Indiana Assisted Living Centers including specialized care units devoted to Alzheimer’s
disease. Promoted to that position in May of 1999 after successful operation of two sites in
Michigan.
Administrator, Indiana Management Corporation, Portage, Indiana. 1984-1993. Responsible
for two 100-bed skilled and intermediate care facilities in LaPorte and Portage, Indiana.
Administrator, Hillsborough County Nursing Home, Hillsborough Goffstown, New
Hampshire. 1976-1984. Responsible for a 450 bed governmental health care facility offering
intermediate, residential, and assisted-living services. Also responsible for the county jail and
400-acre county farm. Supervised 1350 employees.

construction and Certificates of Need.
