Participated in a project about computer vision and pattern recognition, and implemented

programs for identifying and tracking object in video file or real-time camera.

08/2013 – 11/2013 Visualizing Secondary Structure of Protein(C++, OpenGL)

Participated in a project for implementing an OpenGL renderer to show the binding ligand

and chains in protein structure. Differences in cavity shape could be showed to reveal atoms

that alter binding preferences in serine proteases.

03/2014 – 05/2014 Text Mining for SPAM filters(Python, Weka)

Utilized data mining techniques to filter SPAM emails. J48, LibSVM, Nave Bayes, JRip

and IBk classifiers are applied and compared.

04/2013 Implementation computation using multi-threading technique(C)

Applied the MPI (Message Passing Interface) package on CSE Department SunLAB cluster

which supports a 30% higher performance to solve the longest common subsequence computation.

10/2013 Socket programming for testing Java code(C, Python, Java)

Implemented a networked application based on the client-server paradigm and TCP protocol.

The server runs a Python grader program and the client sends Java files to the server for

grading and receives the summary of grading back from the server.

11/2013 Design a Java interface that exposes C library’s functionalities(Java, C)

Create JNI(Java Naive Interface) bindings for libharu(C library) to expose its functionalities

to Java program. Java interface could use functions in C library.

04/2014 Compute a Phylogenetic Tree using UPGMA and Neighbor Joining(Python)

Parsed the distance matrix for processing at first. And output text illustration of the

updated UPGMA and Neighbor Joining tree.
